Viktor Suvorov in his books Icebreaker, Who Started WW2, Day M and many others clearly explains that Stalin's goal was to invade and occupy entire Europe by first brining Hitler to power in Germany, who would then wage war against entire Europe, with capitalist powers completely exhausting themselves in the war, and when Hitler would rule Europe, he would strike him down and be proclaimed as liberator. It is quite clear that Germany wasn't prepared for war against USSR, which was clearly seen already at the end of 1941 and materialised to the end in 1945, and that Operation Barbarossa was the desperate last-minute preventive strike against unstoppabble Soviet military death machine which had over 30 million soldiers, 30,000 tanks, and tens of thousands of airplans, hundreds of thousands of cannons and mortars etc, which would overrun Europe and turn it into a Bolshevik slaughterhouse if they had invaded first.
