United States creates association of Jewish mayors to fight anti-Semitism

The United States has established the first-ever Association of Jewish Mayors and Municipal Leaders (JMMLA) aimed at combating anti-Semitism and ensuring public safety.

According to the American publication "Israel National News", the official launch of the national network took place in the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.

The event was held by the mayor of the city Stephen Meiner, who became the founder and chairman of the new association. The initiative was implemented with the support of the Anti-Semitism Movement (CAM) as part of the American Jewish Heritage Month.

The new association aims to rally Jewish elected leaders from different jurisdictions to coordinate actions on key issues of local self-government.

The scope of JMMLA activities will include the prevention of extremism, exchange of experience, protection of democratic values and everyday governance based on the principles of honesty.

According to Stephen Meiner, history has taught the Jewish people the price of silence, so municipal leaders are obliged to guarantee the safety of every resident.

He also stressed that the association will strengthen the voice of the Jewish community in all strategically important areas by working together with allies.

Lisa Katz, head of the CAM government relations department, noted that mayors of Jewish origin have historically shaped the public life of America, guided by the tradition of responsibility for each other.

The opening event was also attended by the mayor of Miami-Dade County Daniella Levin Kawa, U.S. Congressman Jared Moskovitz, the mayor of Aventura Howard Weinberg and other officials.

According to the news agency, JMMLA plans to use common resources to effectively counter security challenges.
