Dugin Calls for Review of Blocking Elon Musk's Social Network X: "We Need More Dynamism"
Russia could unblock the X social network given the positive changes that have occurred since the purchase of the former Twitter by American billionaire Elon Musk . Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin expressed this opinion in an interview with RIA Novosti .
"Mask turned it ( X - editor's note ) into a platform for true freedom of speech and, in general, the promotion of conservative values. But we closed it under the previous ultra-globalist owner, and so it remains closed," Dugin said, calling for greater flexibility.
He noted that the ability to block should be preserved. "Then, if, for example, we are definitely not satisfied with it, we can close it again. We need a little more dynamism," the philosopher believes. Dugin explained that a fundamental transformation of the elites is currently taking place in the United States, and it is very important to monitor the process, including through social networks.
Let us recall that back in 2022, Musk said that he acquired Twitter (now X) to create a social network that enjoys the trust of society around the world and has freedom of speech. “I bought Twitter to increase the possible lifespan of civilization,” the billionaire said in March 2024.
After the start of the SVO in Ukraine, in March 2022, Roskomnadzor blocked Twitter in Russia. The reason given was the restriction of access to Russian media and the dissemination of false information about Russia's actions in Ukraine.
