Russian arrested for posting ''Holocaust denial' on social media and insulting Soviet war 'hero'
A Petersburger was detained for a post about Holocaust denial on a social network. This was reported to 78.ru by a law enforcement source.
It was established that in July 2022, a man under the name “Bronislav Kaminsky” published comments denying the Holocaust and discrediting the feat of Hero of the Soviet Union Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated. Already on September 8, the police detained the 45-year-old author of the post.
During the search, 2 knives, a telescopic baton, and prohibited literature were confiscated from him. The man was given a measure of restraint - a written undertaking not to leave the place. It is noted that earlier he had problems with the law. He was convicted under Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing of narcotic drugs).
Earlier, 78.ru wrote that the court refused to reinstate the RANEPA teacher, who called the Holocaust a "myth".
