Russia and India will have a settlement system like SWIFT

According to the Indian newspaper Economic Times, citing sources close to the topic, the Reserve Bank of India, together with the Russian bank VEB.RF, have completed work on creating their own system of international transfers for settlements between countries.
Recall that recently the West, led by the United States, imposed new tough sanctions against Russia, including blocking access to the SWIFT international money transfer system. This new system will be introduced as early as this week.
This will make it possible to ensure "the smooth transmission of import or export documents for transactions in rupees and rubles," according to the Economic Times .
The Indian side offered Russia several variants of transaction platforms and the final version will be installed at the headquarters of the Reserve Bank of India and VEB.RF.
A meeting of representatives of the Russian and Indian central banks is already scheduled for early April to discuss the regulatory framework.
