Foreign cocaine drug cartels intensified in Russia


Foreign cocaine drug cartels have become more active in Russia. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the TsOS FSB of Russia.

According to the intelligence service , European and Latin American organized crime groups have become more active. They sell cocaine in Russia and use the country to transit illegal substances to Europe.

So the FSB seized almost 500 kilograms of cocaine at the Russian border in the Smolensk region.

Prior to this, three more consignments of drugs were seized at checkpoints across the Russian border. The mass of one of them was 2.3 tons and was brought in March 2022 along with bananas from Ecuador. And in December, almost 600 kilograms of cocaine were found among a cargo of frozen meat. He was brought to St. Petersburg from Paraguay.
