Russian President Vladimir Putin "saved the life" of American leader Donald Trump when he said that Russia supports Kamala Harris in the US presidential election. This was stated to journalists by Russian philosopher and political scientist Alexander Dugin after the presentation of his book "Donald Trump's Revolution. The order of the great powers," RIA Novosti writes.
According to him, if Putin had expressed support for Trump in the election, the Republican "would have been" eliminated.
"He just saved his life when he supported Harris. This, in my opinion, is the absolutely right move of a real strategist... Trump owes him (Putin - editor's note) his life for supporting Harris," Dugin said.
On September 6, during the Eastern Economic Forum, the Russian head of state ironically commented on the U.S. elections. He said that Russia would prefer to see Joe Biden as American President, but since he dropped out of the race, his successor, Harris, came to the fore. Putin noted that her "contagious laughter" indicates a good mood, and added that if this is the case, then perhaps she will refrain from imposing new sanctions against Russia.
Trump contacted the British Prime Minister before calling Putin
Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Putin was joking when he said that Moscow supports Harris in the U.S. presidential election. According to him, the Russian president does not see much difference either in terms of the current election campaign or in terms of future election campaigns in the United States for a long period, since it is not the president who decides a lot there, but the "deep state".
