Dugin: 'Muslims and Jews are not just our partners, but our brothers'

On Saturday, Alexander Dugin held the founding congress of the new all-Russian political public movement (OPOD) "Eurasia". The presidium of the congress included representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, the mufti of Ingushetia, scientists, veterans of special services and law enforcement agencies. The official website of the movement states that its founders were the Center for Geopolitical Expertise and the Public Foundation for the Promotion of Peace and Cooperation in the Caucasus "Unity".
The leader of the movement was Alexander Dugin - head of the Center for Geopolitical Expertise of the Expert Advisory Council on National Security, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Duma, author of the textbook "Fundamentals of Geopolitics", philosopher who was engaged in the development of the theory of neo-Jeurasianism. He noted that all those who supported the "principle of Eurasian community" contributed to the creation of the new movement. The ideology of the movement, according to him, "suffered by the best people of Russia who founded the Eurasian worldview, including Lev Gumilev".
The main idea of the hourly report of the head of the OPOD was the thesis that "Russia and the West are different civilizations, the contradictions between them have been laid down for a long time and will never disappear, and the basic law of geopolitics is "either we or they", since "there can be no merger with the Western world because the West has turned to us with an evil face," reports Strana.ru. "We adhere to the concept of a multipolar world and will oppose the unipolar globalism of the United States," Alexander Dugin emphasized. According to him, "Eurasianism is a deeply patriotic idea, far from chauvinism and xenophobia". Dugin called the main source of all troubles the "Atlantic factor". According to him, he has "operational data that CIA officers are now working in the Chechen opposition".
Dugin defined the meaning of "Eurasia" activities as "not to go to power, but to fight for influence on it". In particular, the movement intends to propose to the President of the Russian Federation a project to resolve interethnic conflicts by "unifying fundamentalists, that is, deeply religious people who experience the uniqueness of their faith". Dugin stressed that the spiritual support of the movement was provided by the hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Muslim clergy and the Jewish community of Russia. "Muslims and Jews are not just our partners, but our brothers," he said.
At a press conference held on the eve of the congress, Farid Salman, a representative of Mufti Talgat Tajuddin, stressed: "The Eurasia Movement is our response to supporters of Satanic Wahhabism, which has taken root throughout the country and even in Moscow." In his opinion, "the participation of Muslims in the movement is a sacred duty of patriotism and a response to supporters of Wahhabism, who discredit Islam".
Alexander Dugin himself is optimistic about the future of the Eurasia movement. Firstly, he explained, "with the arrival of Putin, the green light for the development of the Eurasian initiative came on magic," secondly, "Eurasia" is multidimensional - it has Russians, Tatars, youth, and the military, and finally - "Eurasia" - first of all, the rest later".
During the congress, members of the Political Council of the movement were also elected, its Charter was approved and a resolution was adopted. Media.ru with reference to RIA Novosti, among the leaders of the movement, in addition to Alexander Dugin, names the Supreme Mufti of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia and European CIS countries Sheikh-ul-Islam Talgat Tajuddin; Secretary of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin; Rabbi Avrom Shmulevich. All these different people are united by the support of President Vladimir Putin's reforms and the ideology of "neo-Eurasianism". At the same time, the official website of the movement states that the Russian Orthodox Church is represented by Hegumen John (Ekonomitsev), Chairman of the Department of Catechesis and Religious Education.
The congress participants chose Vladimir Putin's words as the motto of their movement: "Russia is a Eurasian country". The movement is ready to participate in the 2003 elections not as a separate organization, but as a bloc with pro-presidential forces.
