The program theses of Zokhran Mamdani, who won the mayoral election of New York, are consonant with the positions of the CPRF. This opinion was expressed in an interview with “Ъ” by the Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the party, Head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Leonid Kalashnikov.
The collective assessment of the figure of the new head of New York in the CPRF has not yet been formulated, Mr. Kalashnikov misspoke: “We need to understand how he will show himself in real life after his election.” However, the American’s election theses were “consonant with ours”, the deputy said.
Mr. Mamdani’s program – “this is what we proposed in the State Duma a week ago: not to impose (taxes on the small and the poor. – “Ъ”), but large capital,” explained the Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee: “Let’s take 1-2% from them, we said. He also says: let’s take it from the financiers… What’s not the approach? Good approach, justice.”
“He is indeed partly a communist, although they are called “Democratic Socialists of America,” Leonid Kalashnikov said. This organization, like the CPRF, “was disappointed in the Social Democrats of Europe” and left the Socialist International, but joined the Left Forces Forum in São Paulo, the deputy added: “He is our partner”.
Zohran Mamdani’s director mother mentioned in Epstein files
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s film director mother, Mira Nair, was mentioned in the newly released tranche of Epstein files.
Her name was included in a 2009 email from publicist Peggy Siegal to the convicted pedophile.
‘Just left Ghislaine’s townhouse…after party for film. Bill Clinton and Jeff Bezos were there…Jean Pigoni, director Mira Nair….etc,’ Siegal wrote.
The details in the email suggest it was a party for Nair’s 2009 adventure-romance film Amelia, starring Hilary Swank and Richard Gere.
‘Film received tepid reaction although women like it much more…Hillary Swank and Gere at stupid party in Bloomingdales cheap sportwear department….very weird,’ Siegal wrote.
