Michael Laitman (philosophy PhD, biocybernetics MSc) is a scholar-researcher in the field of classical Kabbalah, PhD, founder and head of the International Academy of Kabbalah (IAC), an independent, non-profit association engaged in scientific and educational activities in the field of Kabbalah science.
M. Laitman was born in 1946 in Vitebsk (Belarus). In 1971 he graduated from the Leningrad North-Western Correspondence Polytechnic Institute, where he studied biological and medical cybernetics. As part of his studies, he was engaged in research activities at the Institute of Blood Research, specializing in the electromagnetic regulation of blood supply to the heart and brain. For the last 30 years he has been researching the science of Kabbalah. Lives in Israel, married, has three children.
In 1978, scientific research led M. Laitman to study the ancient science of Kabbalah. Having become a student of Kabbalist Baruch Ashlag (1906-1991), the son and follower of the greatest Kabbalist of the 20th century. Yehuda Ashlag (Baal Hulama) (1884-1954), author of the commentary “Sulam” (translated from Hebrew as “Ladder”) on the Book of Zohar, M. Laitman continues the chain of transmission of Kabbalistic knowledge to the modern generation.
M. Laitman is the author of more than 30 books on the science of Kabbalah, translated into 15 languages, which, in essence, are in-depth commentaries on all original Kabbalistic sources. In his works, he actually revised traditional views on Kabbalah and showed it as knowledge necessary for all humanity.
Today, M. Laitman’s long-term research in the field of Kabbalah science is universally recognized. Since 2005, M. Laitman has been a member of the World Wisdom Council, a meeting of leading scientists and public figures involved in solving global problems of modern civilization.
M. Laitman’s lectures are broadcast daily live on the website of the International Kabbalah Academy TV channel with simultaneous translation into 7 languages (Russian, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Turkish).
Prominent members of the international intellectual community applaud his efforts to impart Kabbalistic knowledge to scholars and the general public.
Prof. Erwin Laszlo (Italy/Hungary) – founder and president of the Club of Budapest and the World Wisdom Council: “At a time when the fate of our future existence on this planet is being decided, the ancient science of Kabbalah is once again gaining significance and relevance. The wisdom contained in the classical works of the Kabbalists must be used to solve the problems we face and to realize the opportunities that lie before us. This message must be made available to all people, both in Israel and throughout the world. Michael Laitman, like no one else, is capable of solving this most important task and fulfilling this historical mission.”
Prof. Daniel Matt (USA) is a leading expert in the field of philosophy of Kabbalah: “Michael Laitman is a unique and amazing person: a talented scientist who created a well-founded synthesis of science and Kabbalah.”
