Sharia socialism

The Islamist underground is becoming more and more active, despite the loud statements of the federal authorities about its imminent liquidation and the efforts of law enforcement officers to ensure it. Despite the tactical successes of the security forces and the death of many prominent Islamists, the jihad is steadily gaining strength, gradually spreading from the North Caucasus to the entire territory of Russia.

What are the "wahi" of the North Caucasus? I bring a record of my conversation with one of the witnesses and participants of the events taking place. My interlocutor is a local businessman, a Circassian, in terms of views - a convinced secular nationalist, a supporter of Habze and Adyghstva:

Our Wahabism is something between Che Guevara and Don Corleone. It's a brotherhood, it's a mafia structure involved in Islamic socialism.

The level of support for these ideas among young people is very high.

One of my acquaintances, a school teacher, her student, a young man, once said: "If I don't find a job after school, I'll go to the wahabs." And that's the motive for many people. "Vahi" keep open, openly talk about their views - and everyone is afraid of them. They can throw it out of the car, take away the property - no one disputes anything. Everyone is afraid of them, including the organs. You can't conflict with them alone, they broke many "cool" who hoped for their strength, and challenged them, broke them hard. Now they are afraid not of showdowns with the urs, but of showdowns with the wahs. You can negotiate with urks, you can forgive and forget, with these - no.

There are many athletes among them, especially rural, but there are also enough urban ones. At the same time, there are few really deeply religious and those who understand the subtleties among them. There are two or three, maximum five - anchor ideas, that's why they cling to them: justice, equality, brotherhood in Islam, equal starting opportunities.

The feeling of belonging to a strong community is also important: jamaat will always support. More money. Almost all "wahhabs" are on cars, no one is in trouble, i.e. they help with their money, distribute duties among their own. This means the dues with which they imposed almost everyone, i.e. this is a system of social mutual assistance. At the same time, they conduct active agitation, very active and intrusive. And violence is applied to two categories: law enforcement officers and resisting businessmen, civilians are not touched. That is, there is still a peaceful daavat (sermon, call to Islam) among civilians. Wahhabists are very convinced, literally raving about their imarate and caliphate. It's impossible to convince them of something, like an immetrable wall, they bend their line - and that's it, even if you crack.

On the basis of Wahhabism, they fraternize with foreigners and anyone, deny Adyghe.

The older generation, because young people can't offer any alternative. Wahhabism, like water, penetrates into all cracks, fills the ideological vacuum. And also: participation in the jamaat is strength, money, the status of a member of the group. And participation in Adyghe, i.e. in the Circassian national movement, is a headache. In the Circassian republics, nationalists are pressed on a par with the Wahs.

The important thing is that the percentage of those who know, those who understand all the subtleties, among Wahhabis is negligible. Why do they have so many moans about the death of Said Buryatsky and Anzor Astemirov, why for each article of a home-grown smart man with a lower rank of so many enthusiastic comments: "Brother, thank you, enlightened, such a necessary article"? And because there is a terrible shortage of knowledgeable personnel.

Despite this, such a crowd is coming to them.

Why is this happening?

The first reason is a social protest. If everyone had the opportunity to settle down warmly in this life - there would be few people there.

The second reason is the need for an idea. A person still needs an idea, especially active young people.

The third reason is belonging to a strong group: no one wants to be on the side of the losers. Young people believe that the future belongs to the wahabs.

The fourth reason is herd instinct. When - when there are more and more wahabs, you want to join the majority, it's calmer that way. To accome, if not actively, then at least in an external way of life, in words. And there is a revaluation of the value system.

Another moment: on the North. In the Caucasus, young people are not as passive and obedient as in the center of Russia, they want to make their own choices, they do not want to fall on the sidelines of life. It is more ambitious and seeks to apply its forces, and the state offers nothing but corruption. That's when the vahis came in time with their project. To a young man who does not agree with the system and who did not fit into the system - where should he go? To those who offer a ready-made solution, to those who, firstly, have a project for the future; secondly, they will help today.

That is, wahi give both the PRESENT and the FUTURE. Here they are - the two main anchors that young people cling to. And what does the state cling to? For nothing. So it turns out that Caucasian Wahhabism is a mixture of revolutionary socialism a la Che Guevara and Koza Nostra, plus social security. The militant knows that if he dies, his family will not be abandoned. And what's more important: once, in one article about Russian Nazi skinheads, I read a very interesting thought that skins are not an ideology, but a subculture. So, Caucasian Wahhabism is also a subculture of youth, a new subculture, an alternative to rock, Pepsi, communism, capitalism, house-2, reality shows, porn, drugs, etc. Previously, Wahhabis were called "hipups" even in the youth environment. Why "hipping"? Because the motive of many was to be different from the majority and to declare their protest against the unfair structure of life. If we give a name to this phenomenon or subculture, the most successful will be: "Sharia guerrillos", Sharia socialism. After all, revolutionaries also expropriate property always and everywhere. In our case, it's more from Che Guevara than from Don Corleone, and there's much more from Corleone than from Marx. In a different, perhaps, sound, but the slogans of jihadists are the same as those of French revolutionaries - freedom (from the Russian Federation), equality, brotherhood (in Islam).

What to oppose to this? The state is obliged to give at least freedom (from lawlessness) and equality (before the law) so that young people do not go to the wahs. And also brotherhood. Brotherhood from the state is an effective national and religious policy, the fiercest fight against xenophobia, a sense of belonging to a strong and fair state, for which both blond beasts from among the older brother and churks unwashed from the Caucasus are equal. That's when only those who love nature very much at any time of the year will go to the forest... the rest will fight in a counter strike.
