Putin admits Zyuganov is greatest (controlled) challenger
During a press conference on December 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted that his main opponent is the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov.

Correspondent of "Komsomolskaya Pravda Alexander Gamov asked the president a question: "You are the number one politician in our country, and who, in your opinion, can be called the number two politician in terms of influence. And do you already have a successor?"
This is how Vladimir Putin replied: "Yes, you really put me in a difficult position. You know, we have a lot of politicians, and very experienced people. I'll list them, you know all the names well. Communist leader Gennady Andreevich Zyuganov. Millions of people vote for communists. He is a well-known politician, he has his own views on things. I disagree with many of them, I do not share them, many seem quite realistic to me. Especially in international affairs. And in some social issues too..."
Thus, the president was forced to state that the only real alternative to the existing government is the CPRF and its leader Gennady Andreevich Zyuganov.
