Putin addresses Russian Federation Communist Party congress in Moscow July 5, 2025: 'I look forward to further fruitful joint work—for the benefit of the Fatherland and our people'
On July 5, the XIX Congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was held in the Moscow region. The party forum was opened by the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation G.A. Zyuganov.
The delegates of the Congress honored the communists who left us with a minute of silence, including the heroes of the Special Military Operation.

Dear friends!
I greet the delegates and guests of the XIX Reporting and Election Congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
One of the oldest, leading political parties in the country, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation expresses the interests of a significant number of voters. More than 10 thousand of your deputies working in representative authorities at all levels put forward specific initiatives and proposals aimed at protecting the social and labor rights of citizens, supporting industry, defense industry, agriculture, education and science. Supporters of the CPRF actively participate in projects that serve to strengthen Russia's sovereignty in all spheres, patriotic education of young people. You always strive for an open dialogue with people, identify acute problems and offer ways to solve them. Today, when we face serious challenges, protect and defend the future of the Fatherland, broad, truly national consolidation is extremely important. In this regard, I welcome your attitude to constructive cooperation with other political parties and public associations on key tasks of national development.
I would like to especially note the highly professional activities of your faction in the State Duma, including in such areas as parliamentary diplomacy, preservation of historical memory, establishing partnerships with our friends in the world. A large, significant contribution to the strengthening of this interaction was the International Anti-Fascist Forum, organized on the initiative of the communists on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The closing speech was made by G.A. Zyuganov. Gennady Andreevich reminded that almost thirty years ago, in 1996, the people's patriotic forces fought the Yeltsin clique. Then the communists failed to ensure the advantage because of the liberal reformers' fooling of the younger generation. However, the CPRF achieved wide support for workers throughout the country, which the party retains to this day. "Our work has borne fruit," concluded the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
G.A. Zyuganov thanked his party members for their collective work on the preparation of the materials of the Congress. He noted that during the preparation of the report, all the proposals received were worked out. The leader of the communists expressed confidence that the implementation of the tasks is impossible without joining forces and mobilizing the party asset.
"Justice and socialism are the main national idea," Gennady Andreevich said. He urged everyone to carefully study both the materials of the Congress and the experience of Leninist-Stalinist modernization.
G.A. Zyuganov drew historical parallels, showing on a number of examples how the political will of the leaders allowed to overcome the crisis stages of the country's development. He noted that today, against the background of growing external threats, we face similar tasks.
In particular, the leader of the communists emphasized the need to strengthen the people's patriotic forces, the growth of party ranks, and also spoke about the role of the allies in the political struggle.
"Let's take away the spirit of selflessness and cohesion from this Congress," Gennady Andreevich concluded.
