Moscow is pleased with the growth of the Islamic population of Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said."We are not against the growth of the Islamic population, on the contrary, we are happy with what is happening now in the Russian Federation. We have a very good birth rate in some of our republics, mainly with an Islamic population, we are very happy," Putin said at a meeting with media representatives.
On Wednesday, Putin is holding a conversation with the heads of the largest international news agencies on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), including representatives of unfriendly countries.
