The US Department of Justice finally released the documents in the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday.
From this huge amount of material, we are filtering out the parts that mention Mongolia and Mongolian politicians and publishing the first part.
The most frequently mentioned individuals are:
- Former Foreign Minister L. Purevsuren 219 times
- Former President Ts. Elbegdorj 46 times
- Former President Kh.Battulga 81 times
- Former Prime Minister Ch. Saikhanbileg 4 times
- Ch. Ganbat, director of Liberty Partners, was mentioned 194 times.
In general, the communications generated by Mongolian politicians are on topics such as foreign investment, economic policy, elections, etc.
There is no evidence that the presidents or prime ministers directly communicated with Epstein. Purevsuren and Ganbat communicated on their behalf.
Overall, it appears that the Mongolians first contacted Epstein in 2013 and continued to communicate until his arrest in 2019.
For example, President Ts. Elbegdorj met Epstein face to face for the first time on September 23, 2013.

There is no evidence of direct communication with former Prime Minister Ch. Saikhanbileg, and his name is mentioned four times, three of which were in emails sent by Ch. Ganbat. However, he invited Lawrence H. Summers to Mongolia to participate in economic discussions, which Summers later consulted with Epstein.

Ch. Ganbat was the main person who communicated with Epstein on behalf of former President Kh. Battulga. Since 2013, he has been regularly informing Epstein about the political situation in Mongolia and discussing the idea of issuing a cryptocurrency in Mongolia.

In 2015, he wrote to Epstein about problems at his company, Liberty Partners, and police raiding his home and office and seizing documents after he went on a business trip abroad.

Ganbat reported the entire process of the 2017 election to Epstein in great detail. It is noteworthy that one of his emails contains the phrase “On my side working on the Russian side.” It is not clear what this phrase means.

Ganbat later thanked Epstein after Kh. Battulga's victory and discussed further collaboration related to bitcoin.

During this time, Kh. Battulga also expressed his gratitude to Epstein for helping him win the election through Ganbat.
The thank you note reads, “Thank you for your help and support! Fighting the state mafia has not been easy. Now the work begins. We need your continued help!”

In response, Epstein wrote that he wanted to bring a person into Mongolia's renewable energy sector and was willing to pay the person's salary. He even discussed the woman's position.

The woman later came to Mongolia and met Ganbat.

Most recently, Ganbat sent an email to former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak on January 16, 2019, offering to collaborate on cybersecurity, and sent a copy to Epstein's address.

This was their last relationship. Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in July 2019 and committed suicide in a New York prison in August.
