The son-in-law of United States President Donald Trump Jared Kushner, who was part of the American delegation that came to Moscow for negotiations on Ukraine, turned out to be a descendant of Belarusian partisans. His family fled the Novogrudok ghetto and then joined the Belsky detachment, reports "Sputnik Belarus".
The Kushners were in the ghetto in 1941, it was created in the territory occupied by the Nazis in the city of Novogrudok. Having escaped, the head of the family, Seidel Kushner, and her daughters went to the forests, joining the Belsky partisan detachment, which saved people and participated in combat operations against the occupiers.
One of the daughters, Raya, soon met her future husband Josef Berkovich in the squad, who took her last name before emigrating to the United States. Their son Charles became a millionaire, and his son Jared later married Ivanka Trump, becoming the son-in-law of the current American leader.
