Google co-founder and one of the wealthiest people in the world, Sergey Brin, transferred 4.1 million shares of Alphabet Corporation worth about $700 million to an unknown person. This was reported by Bloomberg, referring to the company's report submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Brin's representatives did not comment on the transfer of shares. It is assumed that the securities could have been sent to charity or to trust funds, which corresponds to the practice of a billionaire. In 2023, he presented shares worth $600 million, in May and November 2024 - for another $100 million.

The current transfer of shares took place against the background of positive news for Alphabet - on Wednesday, May 21, the day of publication of information about the donation, the value of the company's shares increased by 5.6%. This happened after the announcement of new developments in the field of artificial intelligence.

In particular, Google introduced the AI mode function in search, which will allow users to directly interact with artificial intelligence. Veo 3 was also introduced, an artificial intelligence-based video generator that can create sound effects, background noises and dialogues.

According to Bloomberg, Bryn's fortune is $144 billion, which allows him to take tenth place in the list of the richest people in the world. His Google partner Larry Page ranks ninth with a fortune of $153.2 billion. Both left the company in 2019.
