George Orwell
George Orwell was a socialist so im not sure how.much he counta as controlled opposition, but I put him here because he's so often cited as an anti communist from writing 1984 amd.animal farm.
Anyways I read animal farm for the first time recently and I was really disappointed. The short synopsis is that communism fails because real communism never gets tried and the communists all become capitalists. Its super lame and Orwell definitely has a thing for trotsky in the book. (Snowball is Trotsky and Napoleon is Stalin)
Interestingly Stalin was accused of (napoleon) bonapartism by the international so I find that way too cohenincidental.
I tend to agree. Orwell was part of the Fabians, if I am not mistaken. Controlled opposition, kind of like I suspect Solzhenitsyn of being, too.
