On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, I congratulate you on the 10th anniversary, the day of the proclamation of independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
On this day, in 2014, referendums on self-determination of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic were held. 89% of voters supported the Act on State Independence of the Donetsk People's Republic. 96% of voters voted for the Act on State Independence of the Luhansk People's Republic. Residents of Donbass have achieved the right to live freely in their own country, overcoming the trials and difficulties that fell to them.
The reason for the referendum was the disagreement with the unconstitutional change of power in Ukraine and the policy pursued there to deprive Russians and Russian speakers of all rights, punitive operations and terror. Historically, the people of Donbass have always spoken Russian. The ban on the use of the native language, discrimination on the basis of racial, national and religious affiliation, carried out by the Kiev junta, forced the people of Donbass to resist the unfolding events.
Alexander Vladimirovich Zakharchenko and Valery Dmitrievich Bolotov are strong, honest, fair, never broken, despite all the efforts of the Kiev junta - people. Leaders who were the first to stand up for their native land. The legendary first head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenkooften visited the CPRF faction, consulted with the leader of the CPRF Gennady Zyuganov on many issues. He considered the decision of three of them to be the main, key for the future of Donbass: the recognition of the results of the referendum held in 2014, the possibility of accelerated and simplified acquisition of citizenship of the Russian Federation by residents of Donbass and the integration of the economy of Donbass into the economy of the Russian Federation. The same questions were put to the Russian Federation by the first Head of the LPR Valery Bolotov. Valera was a communist and our great friend.Gennady Andreevich Zyuganov presented him with a party card at a rally in Moscow. He was notafraid to be the first to remove the balaclava in front of the TV cameras and show his face to the whole world and called for an open confrontation with Ukrainian radicals who illegally seized power as a result of a coup d'état. Today all these issues have been resolved. Besides, in September 2022, republics became part of the Russian Federation. I think that today Valera and Sasha would be the happiest people, knowing that the dreams for which they began active confrontation with the Ukrainian fascists have come true. And they would be with the guys on the front line, just like before, when they were alive. They will forever remain in our hearts as true patriots of their country, heroes of the Russian world, fighters for freedom, people who stood up against violence and real terror committed by the Ukrainian Nazis.
From the very first days of the formation of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was close to the people, sending humanitarian aid, advocating the recognition of the independence of both republics by the Russian Federation, integration into the economic space, accelerated and simplified acquisition of Russian citizenship by all residents of the DPR and LPR. Over 10 years, the CPRF has sent 125 humanitarian convoys to Donbass - more than 25 thousand tons with food, children's gifts, medicines, military equipment, building materials and much more. That's more than a hundred thousand saved human lives. In addition, on the initiative of Gennady Andreevich Zyuganov, Joseph Davydovich Kobzon, the project "Children of Russia - Children of Donbass" was created. More than 18 thousand children have been rehabilitated in the Snegiri health camp near Moscow.
Before the beginning of the SVO in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, festive events in honor of the self-determination of the republics were always held on a large scale. Unfortunately, due to the continuous massive shelling by the Ukrainian fascists, for the sake of the safety of the civilian population on the territory of the republics, the holding of festive events is significantly limited. Today, the heroic Russian army is courageously fighting on the fronts of a special military operation. I am sure that soon the long-awaited peace will be established in the lands of Donbass, that innocent blood will no longer be spilled, peaceful people and children will be alive.
