President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko invited the Rothschild group to assess the country's privatized enterprises. He stated this on February 19 at a meeting with the company's management.
The head of state thanked the company for the work it had already done in evaluating some Belarusian enterprises and organizations. “We highly appreciate the work of your company. This is not news, since the Rothschild group is one of the oldest in the world, and it would be very beneficial for us to work with your specialists,” Lukashenka said.
“If you agree in principle, then in the near future we could identify 5-7 projects and work them out more seriously,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed. “We would not only like to get an accurate assessment of the enterprises being privatized, but we would also like to learn a lot.”
Rothschild Group Managing Director Ariel de Rothschild thanked for the high assessment of the company's work, including the assessment of BPS-Bank's assets. She noted that representatives of the Rothschild group met with members of the Belarusian government, the leadership of the National Bank, in order to better understand the intentions of the Belarusian side from a financial and economic point of view.
