Baron David Rothschild sits on board of Russia's Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre

In Moscow, the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center hosted a meeting of the Board of Trustees, at which the documents regulating its activities were approved. The participants of the meeting, chaired by businessman Viktor Vekselberg, approved the composition of the Council and heard information about its work over the past six months. The Board of Trustees included, in particular: President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia Alexander Boroda, Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov, entrepreneurs Viktor Vekselberg (Chairman of the Board), Leonard Blavatnik and Alexander Klyachin, head of the Rothschild Group Baron David Rothschild, ex-head of BP Lord John Brown, President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald Lauder, as well as other Russian and foreign businessmen and public figures.
“I am very glad that we managed to form such a representative Board of Trustees. I am sure that the successful development of our museum directly depends on the effective work of this key management body, ”said Alexander Boroda, President of the FEOR of Russia.
Sergei Ivanov, Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, during the meeting emphasized "the need to constantly draw society's attention to the topic of tolerance" and expressed the hope that the projects of the Tolerance Center "will allow raising work in this direction to a new level."
“The Moscow Museum is still very young, but in the process of its creation we have become convinced that even today it attracts a very high interest not only in Russia, but throughout the world. Therefore, we hope that all the projects of the museum will continue to be truly noticeable on an international scale,” said Viktor Vekselberg, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center.
It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Board of Trustees before the end of this year. The main topic of its agenda will be the approval of the budget and work plan for 2014.
