Journalists from the Center for Investigation Management (TsUR) found that the son of the Russian ambassador to Argentina, Viktor Coronelli, was in 2010 a defendant in a criminal case on drug trafficking. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Argentina in February was at the center of a scandal in connection with the discovery in a school with him of 12 suitcases with almost 400 kilograms of cocaine, prepared for shipment to Moscow.

As the TsUR found out, on January 6, 2010, Viktor Koronelli Jr. was detained on Sevastopol Avenue while buying two bundles of 0.4 grams of amphetamine from 27-year-old Svetlana K. for 500 rubles. During the arrest, the girl was in a state of drug intoxication and behaved inappropriately, while Coronelli voluntarily gave the law enforcement officers bundles with amphetamine and agreed to cooperate with the investigation. He pointed out to the operatives where else in the area there are points for the sale of drugs.

According to one of the operatives of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the South-Western Administrative District, shortly after the arrest of Coronelli, the police began to call from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from Petrovka, 38. “We closed the girl, and the son of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had to be released,” the police officer told the TsUR correspondent.

In March 2010, a hearing in the case of Svetlana K. Koronelli was held at the Cheryomushkinsky Court as a witness. He stated that he had never taken drugs and "just had a misunderstanding" with him. Svetlana K. fully admitted her guilt and petitioned for consideration of the case in a special manner. She was sentenced to four years in a penal colony. Koronelli was returned 500 rubles seized during the arrest as material evidence.

According to some reports, Coronelli is currently working as a cameraman on a federal channel. Svetlana K. did not return to Moscow after her release. She currently lives with her mother in the Tula region.
