A court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a 33-year-old local resident who tortured his young son to ten years in prison. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the regional department of the Investigative Committee.
The man was found guilty under paragraph “d” of Part 2 of Article 117 (“Torture of a minor”), Article 156 (“Improper performance of duties in raising a minor”) and paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Article 112 (“Intentional infliction of moderate harm to health” ) Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He will serve his sentence in a maximum security colony.
According to investigators, the convict systematically beat the child and also deprived him of necessary nutrition and medical examination. Finding his son without signs of life on May 26, 2022 and fearing liability, he put him in a travel bag and threw him into the river. A few days later the man was detained and taken into custody. Later, as a result of forensic medical examinations, it was established that the boy had a systemic pathology characteristic of congenital diseases, which could lead to his death.
Earlier, in the Kamchatka Territory, a court sentenced a 40-year-old local resident who beat her 17-year-old son to three years and two months of imprisonment.
