Moscow. 9th May. INTERFAX.RU - Russian President Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall.

The Russian leader walked to Alexander Garden from Red Square, where the military parade dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War ended.

The wreath-laying ceremony was also attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who previously attended the Victory Parade. Then the heads of the three states laid flowers on the alley of hero cities and cities of military glory in the Alexander Garden.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin personally invited one of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, who was present at the Victory Parade, to go with him to the Alexander Garden. According to an Interfax correspondent, a veteran in a ceremonial tunic, completely covered with orders and medals, went from the podium to Putin, but the presidential guards tried to stop him.

The President, who was walking along Red Square, having noticed what was happening, turned to the stands and approached the war veteran, inviting him to walk with him.

Together with the president, acting. Minister of Defense and other officials, the veteran proceeded to the Alexander Garden. All the way the veteran walked next to the president without outside help.
