Why Kabbalah is not for Christians
Quote from Timothy Fitzpatrick on January 26, 2025, 16:09Many famous people promote the idea that Kabbalah gives some secret knowledge that is encrypted in the Torah. For example, Madonna, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, David Beckham, Britney Spears and many others.
Therefore, it is important to understand the roots of this "secret knowledge". Some people pass off Kabbalah as a continuation of the teachings of Judaism or Christianity. But this is simply a wolf in sheep's clothing and here's why. I naturally assume that the Bible is a divinely inspired revelation from above! There are hundreds of proofs of this, but this post is not about that!
Just a few fundamental contradictions between Kabbalah and Biblical teaching.
1 - Kabbalah is the interpretation of the Torah using letters and numbers, such an interpretation is used to decipher some secret codes encrypted in the text. The New Testament is the interpretation of Scripture by the Spirit, because the letter is dead, as the Apostle Paul himself asserts. And Peter, as if echoing Paul, asserts that the Prophecies of Scripture can be interpreted ONLY by the Holy Spirit! And in fact, the New Testament is the interpretation of the Torah and the Prophets! The New Testament is the interpretation of Scripture by the Spirit and not by the letter!
2 - The goal of Kabbalah is to improve this world. In other words, build paradise on earth. The goal that the Gospel teaches is to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Christ taught that His followers are not of this world. Scripture teaches that the Church is paradise on earth!
3 - Kabbalah presents God as a kind of impersonal force. All Scripture clearly speaks of God as a Person!
4 - Kabbalah removes God from this world, and also dissolves God in the created. That is, it openly promotes deism and pantheism. In other words, it openly fights with the Creator. Scripture reveals to us that God and creation are not fused! And at the same time, God participates in the life of creation!
5 - Good and evil are created by God! (Dualistic world) That is, evil is justified as a necessity! The Bible teaches that God created Good, but not evil!
And for dessert. (We can analyze the Kabbalistic lies for a long time, but this is quite enough) - "Speculative Kabbalah is a combination of elements of Gnosticism of the 2nd-3rd centuries A.D. and Neoplatonism. The Gnostics borrowed the doctrine of 10 aeons, which make up the pleroma (universal fullness). Gnostics and Kabbalists are related by dualism, the idea of the eternal enmity of the principles of good (light) and evil (darkness)."
I think there is no point in writing about applied Kabbalah. It is simply one of the varieties of magic! To say that the Scripture directly condemns magic and witchcraft is to say nothing.
Be blessed and wise! Do not fall for Jewish philosophy, which is not according to Christ!
