On October 16, 1970, on the second day of Sukkot 5731, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, King Moshiach, gave a speech that began with the words “All nations will glorify the Most High.” It is important to note that the Rebbe prepared this speech for publication on semi-holidays (when it is not customary to write without a special reason), and at the same time the speech was printed and distributed throughout the world at the direction of the Rebbe, so that it was taught during the holiday of Sukkot! This speech was continued by the Rebbe’s conversation, in which he quoted the words of the sages that during the existence of the Temple, on the holiday of Sukkot, 70 bulls were sacrificed for all the peoples of the world. The Rebbe also said that this was connected with the conference of representatives of the nations of the world (which took place exactly these days in New York) where the future of the Land of Israel and the Jewish people was discussed. “The real power over the peoples of the world is exercised by the Jews and depends only on the behavior of the Jewish people,” the Rebbe King Moshiach decreed. He also recalled that the book of the Prophets, which is read on the holiday of Sukkot, speaks of the gathering of nations for judgment at the end of days.
After the first day of Sukkot, the annual world meeting of representatives of the Chabad organization took place in New York, the venue of which was “770” - the “House of Moshiach”, the residence of the Rebbe.
During the meeting, an instruction came from the Rebbe King Moshiach that the Hasidim - representatives of the countries who arrived at the meeting - should speak and say what the Jews in their countries need. After all, the Rebbe said that all power and all influence on all countries of the world is in the hands of the Jewish people!
For example, a Hasid from Israel stood up and said that it was necessary to change the law on settlements in order for the “territories” to remain Israeli. A Hasid from Russia said that the Jews of Russia need liberation because of the Iron Curtain. And so all the Rebbe's envoys from other countries demanded for the benefit of Jews in all places. By the way, on the same day a meeting of ambassadors from countries around the world took place in New York.
On the evening of October 21, 1970, during the holiday of Shemini Atzeret, when they began to dance with the Torah scrolls for the fourth time, the Rebbe suddenly said: “He establishes the boundaries of nations according to the number of the sons of Israel - seventy nations of the world according to the number of seventy people who descended with Jacob into Egypt, and the Jews - they are the owners of the whole world.” The Rebbe explained that the Jews are the “masters” of all the countries of the world, and therefore it is necessary to appoint “masters” now. After this, representatives of all the countries that had been named before were called, and the one who had the right to be a rabbi had to raise his hand.
There were those about whom the Rebbe even clarified their connection with the country, and there were those to whom the Rebbe gave small instructions. Thus, rabbis were appointed as “masters” in such countries as: Israel, Egypt, Latvia, England, Russia, Canada, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, France, Iraq, Romania, Tunisia, Morocco, Mexico, Denmark, Australia, Yemen, Germany, Iran and others. After naming the rabbis from all these countries, the Rebbe ordered to proclaim again what had been said earlier, adding “that by the power of the Torah” they are considered the “masters” of these countries.
Someone noted that instead of the non-Jews at the UN making their decisions and the rabbis having to overturn them, it is necessary that good decisions be made in the first place. The Rebbe said that “this is a serious thing, this is not a joke, if it were just a joke, they would not order the Torah scrolls to be taken out for the sake of this.” And the Rebbe explained that it is said in the Talmud, “that at the moment when the cabinet with the Torah scrolls is opened, it is as if a court is sitting”!
Immediately after all this, on the same day, a special meeting of rabbis appointed as masters of the countries of the world was held. It was decided that the Land of Israel and Hebron belonged to the Jewish people, as Rebbe King Moshiach wanted. The next afternoon, several country representatives conveyed their decisions to the Rebbe through an Israeli representative. He said: “By the power given to us, as the masters of the countries of the world, we appoint the Rebbe as the master of the world!” The Rebbe smiled and said, “Are you taking back your ownership rights yet?”
The spokesman continued and said, “Let the Rebbe’s wishes be fulfilled immediately—everything concerning Israel, that the law of who is a Jew be changed and all talk of giving up territories be annulled.” The Rebbe listened and said: “Amen.”
On the evening of Simchat Torah, the Rebbe stood (usually the Rebbe speaks while sitting) and spoke for a long time. He said that all actions to strengthen and strengthen the Jewish people and the Land of Israel within its borders should be carried out according to the example of “I sleep on my bed.”
The Rebbe explained that when Chizkiyau fought with Sancheriv, the Almighty wanted to make Chizkiyah Moshiach. According to the laws of nature, Sancheriv and his army should have won, but an angel of the Most High came out and struck them. This happened after Hezkiyah complained that he did not have the strength to fight. Relying on the Almighty, he went to bed (“I sleep on my bed”). That same night, Sancheriv's army was miraculously destroyed.
