Russian woman fined for Instagram image that said 'Israel is a symbol of death'

Khadizhat Ibakhieva will have to pay 15 thousand rubles

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Moscow's Babushkinsky Court has fined Russian citizen Khadizhat Ibakhieva 15,000 rubles for posting images inciting hatred toward Israeli citizens on the social network Instagram (banned in Russia; owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia). This is stated in court documents reviewed by TASS.

"To find Ibakhieva Khadizhat Viskhanovna guilty of committing an offense under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity) and sentence her to an administrative fine of 15,000 (fifteen thousand) rubles 00 kopecks," the case materials say. It is noted there that the offender herself did not appear in court for an unknown reason; the hearing was held without her.

The documents also indicate that Ibakhiyeva posted a publication on Instagram consisting of images containing signs of inciting hatred or hostility towards Israelis. This post was noticed by employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who drew up a report against the woman and submitted it to court.
