Russian mufti awards Patriarch Kirill with highest Muslim award for 'strengthening of interreligious relations of the Russian Orthodox Church with the Islamic world'

Today, at a meeting of the Interreligious Council of Russia, the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Council of Muftis of Russia, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, presented the Head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill, with the highest award of Muslims in Russia - the Order of Honor “Al-Fakhr”, 1st degree.

A decree signed by the spiritual leader of Muslims in Russia states that the award was presented for “a great personal contribution to the long-term development and strengthening of interreligious relations of the Russian Orthodox Church with the Islamic world, for tirelessly showing concern for interethnic and interreligious peace and harmony in Russia, as well as in connection with 25th anniversary of the creation of the Interreligious Council of Russia . "

“The Presidium of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation decided to award our dear brother His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia with the highest award of Muslims in Russia - the Order of Al-Fakhr, 1st degree, in connection with the 25th anniversary of the Interreligious Council of Russia and many years of work in the name of unity and cohesion of the peoples of our Fatherland,” said the spiritual leader of Russian Muslims at the presentation.
