Every week in the MEOC synagogue there are lessons on the book TANIYA, taught by the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar. On February 25, the study of the book was completed and a new series of lessons was opened.

It started as private lessons with a couple of synagogue congregants, but grew into full-fledged lessons with more than 20 regular students. For about 13 years, Rabbi Lazar revealed the secrets and depths of the book, which is called “The Written Torah of the Hasidut teachings.”

In honor of the end and the beginning of a new cycle of lessons, a Hasidic feast was organized, at which regular students were able to tell their memories of how it all began and what changes have occurred in their lives since they began to comprehend the secrets of Hasidut.

The end of the series of lessons was timed to coincide with the yortzeit (anniversary of the departure from this world) of Chaya Mushka Lazar, the daughter of Rabbi Berel Lazar and Rebbetzin Chana. The head of the MEOC, Rabbi Mordechai Weisberg, recounted the memories of his wife, who was Chaya Mushka’s teacher, about how the girl immediately grasped the ideas of Chaisd teaching and explained them to others.

Rabbi Lazar brought 4 small editions of the book “Tanya”. Three, printed in the Kremlin and one, unique, printed at the direction of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Egypt during the Yom Kippur War, on the other side of the Suez Canal in the city of Faid. These books were raffled off among the students who were at the origin of these lessons 13 years ago.

So, starting next week and every Sunday at 10:00 in the MEOC synagogue, Rabbi Lazar’s lessons on the book of Tanya will continue and we hope that there will be even more students.
