The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center announced the creation of the Museum's endowment fund
On February 4, 2014, the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center hosted a festive event - a gala dinner dedicated to the establishment of the museum's endowment fund.
Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar, as well as the founders of the endowment fund of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center Viktor Vekselberg and Len Blavatnik delivered a welcoming speech to the audience.
The official part was attended by the President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia and the General Director of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center - Alexander Boroda; President of Yale University - Peter Salovey; The founder of RFR Holding is Aby Rosen.
Chairman of the Board of the Endowment Fund of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center Diana Ghindin addressed the guests: “It is very gratifying that the institution of endowment creation is already being established in Russia. We are, of course, at the very beginning. The purpose of our foundation is to ensure the long-term financial stability of the museum. Looking at all of you, I understand that with museum friends like you, we can achieve this.”
As a result of the event, the Museum's endowment fund collected the promised and confirmed funds in the amount of $4,500,000. These funds will serve as the basis for the long-term development and future expansion of the Museum's exposition.
The co-founders of the Museum's endowment fund are: Victor Vekselberg, Len Blavatnik, Roman Abramovich, Vadim Moshkovich, Alexei Likhtenfeld, Alexander Klyachin, Gennady Timchenko, Mikhail Gutseriev.
The event contributed to maintaining and enhancing the international image and authority of the Museum and drawing attention to the problem of tolerance in society.
The event included a private preview of the Andy Warhol: Ten Famous Jews of the 20th Century exhibition from the collection of the Blavatnik Family Foundation.
As part of the musical program of the evening, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Igor Butman and his Jazz Quartet, a musical group led by People's Artist of the Russian Federation Mikhail Turetsky - "Turetsky Choir", as well as an ensemble of soloists "Hermitage" led by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Gindin performed.
