Putin promised help in the restoration of synagogues in Syria

Vladimir Putin promised to assist in the restoration of synagogues, churches and mosques in Syria. The President of Russia stated this at a meeting on December 4 with the heads of delegations of local Orthodox churches who arrived in Moscow to participate in the anniversary celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the patriarchate in the Russian Orthodox Church. The head of state discussed with the clergy the humanitarian aid to Syria, including the restoration of destroyed religious shrines.
“We will also help representatives of other faiths, including representatives of Islam, who, as we know, also suffered very seriously at the hands of bandits, terrorists and radicals,” the Kremlin’s press service quoted Putin as saying. Let's help the Jews too. Some Jewish organizations have already turned to us with a request to help restore Jewish shrines. We are in contact with representatives of the Jewish population of Syria, namely with some of its Jewish organizations, from the United States, including from New York. Let's work together on this problem."
