The head of the secret state police of Nazi Germany, SS Gruppenführer Heinrich Müller, committed suicide at the end of April 1945. The FSB published new archival data confirming the suicide of the Gestapo chief, they are published by RIA Novosti .

The fact that Muller committed suicide was told by Hitler's former personal pilot Hans Baur, materials with his interrogations in the NKVD of the USSR in December 1945 are stored in the FSB department for the Novgorod region. Baur reported how the Nazi leadership behaved after Hitler's suicide.

According to the former pilot, on April 30, after Hitler's death, the SS Gruppenfuehrer confessed to him that, together with two members of the SD (Reichsfuhrer Security Service), he was going to commit suicide. Baur also recalled that Muller suggested that he leave the bunker because, unlike the Gestapo chief, he did not arrest or shoot anyone. Baur did just that, and later learned about the suicide of Müller and two SD employees already in captivity.

In August 1945, a body in a general's uniform was found on the territory of the Ministry of Aviation, in the inside pocket was a certificate in the name of Muller with his photograph. The body was transferred and reburied at the Lilientstrasse cemetery. In September 1963, Muller's remains were not found there.

This gave rise to many conspiracy theories that Muller is alive and after the war moved to Latin America or the USSR. Only half a century later it turned out that in fact his body was transferred to the Jewish cemetery in the Mitte area.
