The Kfar Chabad newspaper headlines: The media in Israel, including the Ynet website, Gali IDF and Kol Israel, report that the former head of the Mossad, Meir Amit, said in an interview with the Kfar Chabad weekly that he is not opposed to the killing of President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "I am not opposed to the world uniting and working to eliminate Ahmadinejad, even though such an elimination would make him a martyr."
The interview was conducted by Chabad journalist Rabbi Yitzhak Holtzman.
A colleague who previously also served as a minister in the government, head of the National Security Agency and deputy chief of staff said that in the past he strongly opposed the elimination of Arab leaders. "We didn't even eliminate Yasser Arafat, even though he was in our hands in the 1960s. As for the president of Iran, the West must unite and eliminate him because he is almost single-handedly handling the nuclear issue."
As for the ability to eliminate Ahmadinejad, Amit said: "The countries of the world have many means and there is nothing that cannot be done. If you concentrate and decide to do something, in the end you do it. However, you have to remember that now I am no longer involved in these matters ".
In the opinion of the former head of the Mossad, there is currently no existential danger to Israel due to Iran's nuclear development - "but that is only on the condition that we do something", said Amit. According to him, the Dimona reactor is a deterrent against Ahmadinejad's intentions. "I think that will be the reason why they won't attack us," he said.
Amit, who received the Israel Prize for his contribution to the country in 2003, believes that if the world does not stop Iran, they will indeed drop nuclear bombs on "one country or another". But at the moment he is not worried "if the Western world sits idly by and doesn't do something, I will be upset and worried".
However, even before the world thinks about the possibility of assassinating the Iranian leader, Amit believes that "the Western world must first of all unite in imposing severe sanctions against Iran and isolating it". According to him, the West must completely disengage from Iran, stop helping them and isolate them economically. "I see the Iranian issue in a completely different dimension, global and not local, Middle Eastern. I see Iranian intensification as a global danger," said Amit.
Amit's prediction is that we are facing a third world war. According to him, the next war will be between civilizations, and it will be different from the past wars. This time it will break out between cultures and not between peoples. The Muslim world is spreading over large parts of the world."
Amit believes that not only is the Western world not united, but that there is currently no leadership in the world capable of capturing the West and standing at its head, not even the United States. "I think President Bush is not in a good situation. He killed himself in Iraq. He went to a futile war and lost the public's trust, so I wouldn't trust Bush."
On his meetings with the Rebbe: "I was then walking on crutches as a result of the injury... Suddenly the people lifted me above their heads and passed me around floating in the air until finally they sat me next to the Rebbe... The Rebbe stood in his corner, and between laps he talked to me."
"Everyone appreciated Chabad, but we at Mossad appreciated them and their activity more than anyone, in the powerful activity of Chabad emissaries all over the world, we saw them as active partners"...
