On the eve of the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah, the Israeli edition of Ynet ranked the most influential Jews in the outgoing year 5780 according to the Jewish calendar (2019-2020).

In the top five "people who changed the world" was a Russian citizen Vyacheslav Moshe Kantor, who was called Putin's "ace in the deck".

This is reported by nsn.fm.

Mr. Kantor was noted as one of the key organizers of the Fifth World Holocaust Forum in Jerusalem, where almost 50 world leaders gathered. It was the largest diplomatic event for Israel.

"Vyacheslav Moshe Kantor has been at the forefront of the fight against anti-Semitism for more than 15 years. As a Jewish leader in one of the most unstable periods in the history of the Jewish diaspora, he works to preserve Jewish life in the diaspora, protect European Jewry and strengthen its position on a global scale," the Ynet material says.

In the Polish edition of Rzeczpospolita, Kantor was previously called Vladimir Putin's "ace in the deck". According to the publication, this large businessman who owns a group of agrochemical enterprises "Akron" can freely develop his business in Russia, providing "special services" to the Kremlin.

The list of the most influential Jews in the world also includes son-in-law and senior adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump Jared Kushner, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Israeli-Canadian businessman and billionaire Sylvan Adams and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
