There are no explanations why the site was named that way. However, it can be assumed that the porn studio created homosexual content, which explains the color. And the name orchid comes from the Greek orchis (“testicle”), as their double bulbs resemble male testicles.

Some creepy footage of porn videos from the Blue Orchid still ends up on crime TV programs. In the video, adult men rape children, hitting them with a belt, while the boys scream, cry and ask for the abuse to stop.

 

From deputy assistant to pornography

 

In the hot summer of 1999, the name of Vsevolod Solntsev-Elbe appeared in news reports for the first time. He is a friend of Vladimir Timofeev, a major seller of foreign porn from the Samara region at that time.

In Russia, a scandal erupts due to the fact that in the late 90s Timofeev was imprisoned for 4 years for child molestation and the production of porn videos. Several hundred orphan boys literally pass through his hands. He rapes them, invites them to become “actors” of a big movie, and in return offers food and accommodation. In 2001, Timofeev, who had already been pardoned, was released from prison. And he continues his work.

At the same time, Solntsev-Elbe lives in Moscow and holds the position of assistant to State Duma deputy Daria Mitina. She speaks from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and is a member of the Committee on Women, Family and Youth Affairs. It is an assistant with a double surname, close to the political elite of the 2000s, who begins to bring street boys from the city of Novokuibyshevsk, Samara Region, where Timofeev worked, to Moscow. Apparently, under the pretext of “helping” children.

Dmitry Vladimirovich Kuznetsov, a resident of Odintsov near Moscow, is also interested in the Samara photographer’s depraved photographs (in criminal circles he is called KDV; porn was initially sold under the same name). He begins to actively collaborate with Timofeev, and then with Solntsev-Elbe.

They launch advertising on the Internet and begin accepting orders. Cassettes initially sell for 250 rubles, but soon the price tag rises to 200 dollars. The monthly profit of the criminal trinity already reaches 40 thousand dollars. The group begins to actively distribute cassettes abroad.

After some time, young Dmitry Ivanov joins the trio and becomes a cameraman. And then the fifth participant is cameraman Igor Rossiysky.

 

Pornographic schism

 

Mid 2000. Solntsev-Elbe quarrels with Kuznetsov and organizes his own project together with Sergei Garbko. They called it "Blue Orchid".

“Floppy disks were in use back then,” says former MUR investigator Dmitry Mironov about the beginning of content distribution. — The darknet didn’t exist yet. There was a stream of tapes coming from Russia. Porn directors filmed both in Moscow and Novokuibyshevsk. They sold videos all over the world: mainly to the States, Germany and England.

Solntsev-Elbe rents a small apartment in the north of Moscow, on Botanicheskaya Street. Its windows look directly onto the Ostankino television center, where “Good Night, Kids” is filmed. The kids visit this ill-fated apartment, despite the pain, tears and humiliation.

In one of the videos from a porn studio that hit the Internet, a boy lies on the sofa, covering his sensitive areas, crying with the words: “No, please. This might be the last time." He begs his torturer to stop the violence.

Thousands of boys aged from 4 to 18 years passed through the Blue Orchid in those years. Some sources report that children are being invited to appear in porn along with their fathers, as the “incest” section on the site begins to gain popularity.

 

Put down roots from Moscow to New York

 

So in the 90s, Russia became the main supplier of minors to the world markets of the porn industry and child prostitution. In the case of Blue Orchid, most of the child pornography was produced at the request of Americans and sent to them.

Marshall Heeger, assistant customs attache to the US Ambassador, himself a former police officer, told colleagues from the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department that the Blue Orchid website was created and operates in Russia. And it is completely fueled by Russian porn products.

A connoisseur of child porn came from America to Russia on purpose. He was invited, he was promised a sex voyage. I met him at the airport as a fellow connoisseur, a lover of boys and one among my own,” says Mironov. — I played the role of a child pimp who is in the know. Of course, I knew where I could pick up the guys.

As the investigator says, future victims came from the regions, sniffed glue behind garages and “hanged out at Three Stations Square, near McDonald’s.”

— Glenn checked into the Intourist Hotel. I, as a representative of the host party, took him to a restaurant, where we had a drink and went for a walk. They began to discuss topics of a piquant nature. And I’m covered in bugs, my colleagues are sitting on Petrovka, listening to me. I caught fire and became a pedophile myself. This is a game, there was no other way. We went around looking for boys and getting to know each other.

As a result, the American picked up a 14-year-old boy on the street and went with him to a hotel. As soon as Glenn began to harass him, the MUR officers, who were sitting in ambush, detained the pedophile.

— Russian legislation was not as strict as it is now. Then in Russia he could only serve 1.5 years, and in America - almost 25 years. After his arrest, he asked for political asylum here. He stood his ground and said: “I’m not going home.” He was shocked that his home was also raided and entire boxes of child porn were seized.

Why only 1.5 years

Investigator Mironov tried to lure Glenn overseas so that the American police could detain him and imprison him for a long time.

“I was still his “friend.” I told him in confidence that I have a friend in the US Senate who also likes boys. He was spinning noodles on his ears from the category that a friend-senator would help. Glenn agreed. The main thing is to return home,” Mironov shared.

— I still remember the moment when I accompanied Glenn and Marshal Heeger to Sheremetyevo airport. Glenn, saying goodbye, gave me a folding knife. Perhaps he understood that this was the end,” said Dmitry Mironov.

Glenn Markiten arrived in the United States and after the trial went to serve his sentence in prison in Chicago. He was not the only American to be convicted in the Blue Orchid case.

“A few years later I visited Glenn [in prison in the United States]. He didn't want to come out to me. After the story in Moscow, we didn’t see each other again,” said Mironov, who regularly flew to international conferences on criminology.

 

To each there is a reckoning

 

The first suspect, 27-year-old assistant to State Duma deputy Vsevolod Solntsev-Elbe, was detained in December 2000. Right in the apartment, which served as a porn studio, on Abramtsevskaya Street. There Solntsev-Elbe allegedly lived with his 15-year-old friend, who starred in one of the Blue Orchid porn films. Together with Solntsev-Elbe, cameraman Sergei Garbko was detained.

In just one of the Blue Orchid apartment-porn studios in Moscow, security forces found and seized a total of 588 videotapes, 112 floppy disks and CDs containing child pornography. And also more than a thousand photographs and negatives with images of naked boys, video equipment and computer equipment that was used to produce child porn.

In 2001, Elbe was sentenced to 1.5 years under Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal production and trafficking of pornographic materials or objects”). He did not serve his entire sentence; the creator of “Blue Orchid” was released under an amnesty in honor of Victory Day.

Almost immediately after his release, he again began distributing child pornography, reuniting with Timofeev and Garbko. One of the two main operators of the Blue Orchid, Igor Rossiysky, fell out of the window of the infectious diseases hospital when the security forces came for him.
