Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was recruited by the Soviet secret services in his youth, which is why he now supports the policies of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russian publicist and oppositionist Andrei Piontkovsky stated this on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
According to Piontkovsky, it is well known that Orban was recruited by the Soviet secret services, which is confirmed by his active interaction with Putin.
"The origin of this Putinism is that Orban was recruited by the Soviet secret services in his youth with the help of the Russian-Ukrainian bandit Semyon Mogilevich (a Russian and Ukrainian member of organized crime groups – ed.), who paid him big money. Everything is very well known about him," the publicist said.
How the EU can influence Hungary
He also noted that Orban's tenure as prime minister insults the memory of the heroes of the armed uprising in Hungary in October-November 1956 against the Stalinist regime, which was suppressed by Soviet troops.
"The existence of such a scoundrel as Orban in the post of prime minister insults the memory of the heroes of the Hungarian uprising. The European Union has certain levers - not immediate exclusion from the European Union. Hungary continues to benefit from huge financial subsidies from Brussels," Piontkovsky noted.
Recall that on October 23, Orban accused the EU of "using methods against Hungary that are reminiscent of the Soviet era." He also accused Brussels of trying to rid Hungary of its identity and impose liberal democracy on it.
