Hanukkah candles lit a Revolution Square in Moscow

Last night, December 18, the opening of the bright holiday of Hanukkah and the ceremony of lighting the first Hanukkah candle took place on Revolution Square in Moscow.
The evening was opened by Borukh Gorin, Head of the Public Relations Department (FEOR). He introduced Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar.
The rabbi spoke about the history of the holiday and the importance of holding it in the central squares of cities:
“There were two miracles on Hanukkah - a military and a spiritual victory, but we are celebrating a spiritual one, such a victory matters for eternity.”
Berl Lazar solemnly lit the first Hanukkah candle and joined the celebration with the audience.
Jews around the world are beginning to celebrate the holiday of Hanukkah. In 2022, it will be held from December 18 to December 26. Various events dedicated to Hanukkah will be held in Russian cities.
