Center them. Gamalei received permission to conduct the first phase of clinical trials of a vaccine against Ebola and Marburg viruses from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The trial, which will involve 64 volunteers, should be completed by the end of 2023.

Ebola and Marburg are deadly infections that are common in Central and West Africa. The Russian vaccine "FiloPan" against them was created on the basis of the technology that was previously used in the preparation for SARS-CoV-2 "Sputnik V".

“The FenoPan vaccine uses a defective adenovirus. It is safe for humans, as it is not able to multiply in the body. It has a gene inserted that codes for the Ebola envelope protein, or Marburg. Due to this, a vaccine against them is obtained. Here, the same principle is applied that was used for vaccination against COVID-19, ”Anatoly Altshtein, professor at the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, told Izvestia.

FiloPan has shown good results in animal testing.
