"Restitution Fund of the Latvian Jewish Community" (Latvijas ebreju kopienas restitūcijas fonds) was left by businessman Dmitry Krupnikov (Dmitrijs Krupņikovs).
After many years of disputes, in February 2022, the Sejm adopted a law on compensation for Holocaust victims. The Jewish community of Latvia will receive 40 million euros within ten years from 2023. This money should be spent on social and material assistance to the victims of the Holocaust, as well as on financing Jewish schools, restoration of buildings and cultural projects.
Before the Jews began to share the money, Dmitry Krupnikov left the "Restitution Fund of the Latvian Jewish Community". According to Crediweb.lv, it happened in April 2023.
At the moment, the Foundation has two officials: Vladimir Vogels and Leonīds Kiļs.
At the same time, Dmitry Krupnikov remains in the leadership of two other Jewish public organizations: "Latvijas Ebreju draudžu un kopienu padome" and "Rīgas Ebreju kopiena".
It is worth noting that the management of "Rīgas Ebreju kopiena" includes Gita Umanovska. It was discussed in the Sejm. The fact is that the National Archives published a card of the KGB agent of the Latvian SSR Gita Leonidovna Mordukhova. Importantly, now she bears the surname Umanovskaya and is the executive director of the Riga Jewish community.
According to the data of the National Archives, Gita Leonidovna Mordukhova, an employee of the Museum of the Revolution of the LSSR, was recruited in 1979. An employee of the 2nd department (counterintelligence) Romanov assigned her the agent pseudonym "Gina".
In 1982, "Gina" was interested in the 4th department of the KGB (counterintelligence in transport, in ports, air terminals).
In 1985, "Gina" changed her last name. She, now Gita Umanovskaya, was finally attached to the 4th department of the KGB.
