Press Secretary of the Communist Party, State Duma Deputy Alexander Yushchenko commented on the preparations for the meeting of Communist Party Chairman Gennady Zyuganov and Chinese President Xi Jinping. In an interview with Lenta.ru, he called such announcements incorrect.
“Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Russia on a state visit. All his meetings are organized by the Office of Protocol of the President of Russia, taking into account the wishes expressed, among other things, by the chairman of the Communist Party [Gennady Zyuganov] and the president [of Russia, Vladimir Putin]. All state meetings are recorded. It is not entirely correct to announce them,” Yushchenko said.
Earlier, the Telegram channel “Earlier, well, almost” quoted Gennady Zyuganov as saying that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation would meet with Xi Jinping on Tuesday and Wednesday. A spokesman for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation noted that the words of the leader of the Communist Party were distorted.
On Monday, March 20, an informal meeting between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping took place in the Kremlin, which lasted 4.5 hours.
The Chinese President's trip to Russia will last three days, from March 20 to 22. As a result of the talks, Putin and Xi are to sign "a number of important bilateral documents," the Kremlin said.
