The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that he had no doubts about Russia's victory in the "holy war." He published his reasoning on Tuesday, February 21, in the Telegram channel.
“It was not Russia that started the war, but it will stop it! Today we are in a holy war against the minions of Satan and there is no doubt about our victory, ”Kadyrov said, commenting on the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin during his message to the Federal Assembly.
Kadyrov noted that the president devoted a significant part of the message to international politics , and added that he supports the decision to suspend Russia's participation in the Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START, or START-III). He said that this decision came as a surprise to representatives of unfriendly countries, which, according to him, will not be able to "play cat and mouse with a great power."
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a message to the Federal Assembly, announced the suspension of Moscow's participation in the START Treaty. The head of state stressed that Russia was not withdrawing from the treaty, but was suspending its participation. Putin noted that for further interaction within the framework of the treaty, Moscow needs to understand exactly how NATO's total nuclear arsenal will be taken into account.
START, or START III, is a treaty between Russia and the United States that came into force in 2010. Under its terms, countries must reduce their nuclear arsenals to 700 intercontinental ballistic missiles, ballistic missiles on submarines and heavy bombers, 1,550 warheads and 800 deployed and non-deployed launchers.
