By Timothy Fitzpatrick
March 18, 2026 Anno Domini

Mystics who took out an ad in a Portuguese newspaper predicting the 1917 Fatima apparition signed it using the name of an occult society tied to Aleister Crowley.

Stella Matutina (latin for “morning star”) was the credit given to one of the ads that successfully predicted the first apparition of Fatima on May 13, 1917, an apparition that was sold as an appearance by the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. It was one of two ads placed by occult groups in Portugal’s Diário de Noticias and Jornal de Noticias, some two months before the event occurred (another mystic group took out ads in other newspapers also predicting the May 13 apparition).

Although the name “morning star” has references to both Jesus and Satan in Christian theology, the occult world uses it to describe enlightenment through a number of different beings or goddesses. Stella Matutina, however, was the name of a Kabbalistic society that succeeded the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (1887-1903), to which belonged British occultist Aleister Crowley, who was once deemed the wickedest man alive, and Crowley’s then secretary Israel Regardie, a Jewish kabbalist who published the Stella Matutina rituals.

Stella Matutina believed that cosmic beings relayed messages to them through the devilish use of trance and automatic writing (spirits direct the author’s pen). A medium calling himself Carlos Calderon, who was allegedly head of one of the Lisbon group of mystics who penned their letter as Stella Matutina, claimed to have channeled a message from cosmic beings (or secret chiefs) using automatic writing and sent it to Diário de Noticias, along with the ads (edition of March 10, 1917). It is not clear whether the newspapers published a facsimile of the automatic written letter; however, accompanying editorials were written by newspaper staff mockingly addressing the prognostications contained in the ads, some of which appeared in the newspaper on the very day of the first apparition, May 13.

Calderon’s channeled automatic-written letter predicting the Fatima apparition, signed by Stella Matutina.

Stella Matutina’s allegedly automatic written leader reads,

“It is not thy place to be judges. He who is to judge thee would not favor thy prejudice. Have faith and be patient. It is not our custom to predict the future. The archanes of the future are impenetrable, although, on occasions, God does allow the corner of the veil cloaking it to be slightly displaced. Have confidence in our prophecy. The day 13th of May shall be a day of great joy for all the good spirits of the world [emphasis mine]. Have faith and be good. Ego Sum Charitas (I am Charity). Thou shall always have thy friends at thy side, who will guide thee and help thee on thy work. Ego Sum Charitas. The brilliant light of the Morning Star shall light thy way.”

Crowley was also an automatic writer. He wrote an entire book (The Book of the Law) allegedly channelled to him through a being calling itself Aiwass. At first, Crowley called Aiwass his guardian angel but then later admitted that it was Lucifer. Crowley’s description of another channeled entity of his, “Lam”, bears a striking similarity to what UFO researchers call “grey aliens”.

“I was bound to admit that Aiwass had shown a knowledge of the Cabbala immeasurably superior to my own,” Crowley wrote in his Confessions.

The apparition at Fatima was purported by the children (Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco) to be approximately three-feet tall—a height that is commonly described by UFO contactees for the grey aliens they allegedly encounter. Incidentally, what is little talked about by the Roman Catholic Church are the contradictory eyewitness descriptions of the so called “miracle of the sun” as a silvery, shiny disc, according to a priest present at the Fatima apparition (flying saucers, or UFOs/UAPs are often described as shiny and disc like). What’s also little mentioned is that Lucia initially believed the Fatima apparition was the devil and only later accepted it as the virgin Mary after it was suggested to her by Church authorities.

Is it possible that the Stella Matutina taking credit for the accurate predictions of the Fatima apparitions is the same one that succeeded Crowley’s Golden Dawn order? It seems highly unlikely that an occult group would use the Latin name in its Catholic context but more likely in its occult context. If true, it tends to lend credence to the possibility that the apparitions at Fatima were not the Blessed Virgin Mary but were some kind of demonic manifestations. Also, if the apparitions at Fatima really were Mary, why would the occult world, which hates Jesus Christ, want to draw attention to something associated with Him? Could Crowley, the wickedest man alive, have somehow opened a portal that invited demonic spirits into the physical realm that culminated in the Fatima apparitions?

December 5, 2025 Anno Domini

The October Revolution of 1917 was the official commencement of Communism, but the ideological movements leading up to this horrible system were decades, perhaps even centuries, in the making.

Communism should not have come as a huge surprise to most people attuned to world events. The writings of Communist architects Karl Marx and Frederic Engels were widely available and the press had been covering the development of socialist movements in Europe during the latter half of the 19th century. The Roman Catholic Church even weighed in on the raging debate of competing economic theories with Pope Leo XIII’s encyclical Rerum Novarum in 1891, some 26 years before the bloody revolution of October.

Yet, the apparition known as the Lady of Fatima—believed by many to be the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ (even though the apparition never identified itself as Mary but only as “the lady”)—would wait until after Communism had been established before warning the Church and the world.

What good is a warning from “Our Lady of Fatima” about the “errors of Russia” spreading around the world if it wasn’t publicly available until decades after it was allegedly uttered and Communism entrenched in the world? Fatima’s child seer Lucia, who apparently had no experience as an ascetic and whose own mother doubted her claims, didn’t reveal the lady’s warning until after the Second World War—long after Communism had already been well established in Eastern Europe, Asia, and on its way westward. Wouldn’t it have made sense for the warning to come before the advent of Communism or, at the latest, shortly after the October Revolution? At that point, the warning seems to serve only as a reference point to which the prognosticator can boast, “see, I was right”. It doesn’t appear to serve any other purpose. If the Lady’s warning were truly of God, if wouldn’t have been possible for the apparent divine message to have been hindered or delayed by the actions of men, Lucia included. Yet, Lucia did delay this message reaching the world. Does it really matter why? Does it matter if Lucia was possibly replaced by an impostor later in her life? No. None of that matters. The warning became of no use by the time it was revealed. By that time, the trajectory of international Communism was visible to all, especially to those in the West. What a waste of a good apparition to tell the world of something it could already easily predict on its own. Furthermore, Lenin and Stalin had been open about their plans for world Communism. The apparition’s delayed warning was no spoiler.

Another suspicious aspect of the apparition’s warning is its failure to have also called for the consecration of Red China—the second, equally dangerous pillar of Communist power in the world. The apparition called on only Russia to be consecrated in order to bring world peace. Evidently, the apparition would have us believe that with Russia out of the way, Red China, the Fabian socialists in the West, and the socialists of the Middle East would have surrendered their Communism and a Communist-free utopia would have ensued. Of course, this is all assuming that consecrations by men of the Church, the Pope are guaranteed to work. I suppose free will doesn’t come into play at all. The Fatimists would have us believe that consecration is a guarantee, regardless of the consent and intentions of the to-be consecrated. It’s like some magical formula where the participants (Russia) merely serve as instruments of the magic.

The apparition’s warning that the “errors of Russia” would spread unless the nation was consecrated to her is peculiar. Firstly, I want to point out that the Fatima apparition made a conditional prophecy (do what I say and no bad stuff will happen) that is incompatible with Holy Scripture, specifically St. John’s Apocalypse, which warns of an unconditional apostasy (bad stuff inevitable, sorry). Secondly, if we take the apparition’s meaning of “errors” to mean Communism, which I think most accept as the most logical meaning, then why did the apparition follow it up with “of Russia” when Imperial Russia had been enveloped by the Soviet monolith known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR-CCCP)? Fatimists may dismiss this as semantical, but why should we expect inaccuracy from God? Has God not been absolutely accurate through His prophets? For example, God’s prophets warned us of the prerequisites for the coming of the Messiah using the Seventy Weeks prophecy (from the Book of Daniel), which God allotted exactly 490 years with which to rebuild Jerusalem in preparation for the Messiah. I could offer a defense of the apparition’s choice of words by arguing that Imperial Russia had been heavily infiltrated by Freemasonry and the occult and, therefore; Communism was only one in a list of errors dating centuries back in Russia’s thousand-year history. However, officially, Imperial Rome was a Christian nation, although of the Eastern Orthodox strain. One could respond that Eastern Orthodoxy was yet another one of these Russian “errors”, but Eastern Orthodoxy was not exclusive to Russia. The official seat of Eastern Orthodoxy has been in Constantinople and remains there to this day. Eastern Orthodoxy did not originate in Russia and cannot be labelled a Russia error. What are we to make of the apparition’s choice of words? Is Lucia’s recollection of the lady’s words even accurate? Memory tends to fade over time and Jactina died as a child, so she is not available to corroborate Lucia’s testimony, and Jacinta’s brother (who also died as a young child) couldn’t even hear the apparition but only see it.

Fatimists will defend their position by arguing that the only reason the lady of Fatima has not brought in her era of peace (a narrative with millenarianist tendencies) is because no pope has yet consecrated Russia to the lady’s immaculate heart. But this is false. Four popes—Pius XII, Paul VI, John Paul II, and most recently, Francis—have all consecrated Russia to Mary in some form or another. Yet, “Russia’s errors” have not abated and Communism is taking over more and more of the globe day by day. Fatimists will then move the goalposts and argue that those popes weren’t specific enough in their consecrations, and that’s why Communism hasn’t been stopped. I guess Pius XII’s, “we consecrate all the peoples of Russia to the same Immaculate Heart” is not specific enough for them. When that excuse fails, Fatimists will often appeal to a form of sedevacantism (the belief that the Catholic Church has been or is currently without a valid pope) to explain why the popes’ consecrations were invalid or why the current self-professed pope won’t consecrate Russia. It’s an anti-pope plot, they say, to hinder “our Lady”. Many of these Fatimists are not sedevacantists technically speaking (although most actual sedevacantists seem to be ardent proponents of Fatima), but the Fatimists will temporarily endorse it merely to defend the Fatima narrative. The reason Fatimists move the goalposts and abandon their own ecclesiology is because their objective isn’t truth. Their objective is to defend the Fatima narrative, truth be damned. Most sedevacantists agree that Pius XII was a valid pope, so the Fatimist rejection of his consecration of Russia doesn’t really hold water. They are forced to admit that the consecrations did nothing to stop Communism and the lady of Fatima is a false prophetess (obviously not the Blessed Virgin Mary).

There are some Fatimists, yet, who believe that Pope John Paul II legitimately consecrated Russia or at least came close to, and they credit him for the (fake) collapse of Communism in 1991 (some even seem to credit Pius XII’s consecration for the death of Stalin). This is probably the most dangerous position, because this kind of Fatimist is under the delusion that Soviet Communism fell and that, consequently, Russia is about to convert to Catholicism and is evinced by its so called turn to Christianity and national conservatism (neither of which is actually true). If Russia is to lead the world into the anti-Christ, one-world Communist system, like it appears they will do, without God’s grace, these Fatimists will be duped.

What Happened at Fatima

Many descriptions of UFO phenomena force us to deal simultaneously with two categories we always attempt to separate: the physical (or technical) and the spiritual (or divine). Numerous witnesses, in their statements after a close encounter, claim bluntly that the experience of the phenomenon has a religious meaning to them. Perhaps it does. Perhaps we need not only a scientific breakthrough here but a consciousness breakthrough as well, a global, historical grasp of the beliefs – materialistic as well as idealistic – among which we have been groping for ten thousand years. Steven Spielberg capitalized on this idea at the end of the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind. So did Whitley Strieber in his book Communion. But it has been captured in the most complete and most artistic form in John Fowle’s extraordinary masterpiece, A Maggot, published in 1986.

The famous apparitions at Fatima offer a historical example of the religious dimension of UFO encounters. The case is a celebrated one, yet I am prepared to wager that few Americans know the full story of what happened in 1917 near that small Portuguese town. I suspect that even fewer realize that the entire sequence of observations of an entity thought to be the Virgin Mary had begun two years previously with a fairly classical sequence of UFO sightings.

If we accept the interpretation given of Fatima by the Catholic Church, we are dealing with a phenomenon that cannot be explained either as a physical effect or as an illusion. In its decision of 1930, arrived at after thirteen years of painstaking investigations by many scholars, the church states that:

The solar phenomenon of the 13th of October 1917, described in the press of the time, was most marvelous and caused the greatest impression on those who had the happiness of witnessing it….
This phenomenon, which no astronomical observatory registered and which therefore was not natural, was witnessed by persons of all categories and of all social classes, believers and unbelievers, journalists of the principal Portuguese newspapers and even by persons some miles away. Facts which annul any explanation of collective illusion.

This “miracle,” the reader will note, had been predicted several months before by three illiterate children after their vision of a woman “in a bright glow.” She had not said that she was the Virgin Mary. She had simply stated that she was “from Heaven” and instructed them to return every month until October, when a public miracle would take place “so that everyone may believe.”

The events at Fatima involve luminous spheres, lights with strange colors, a feeling of “heat waves” – all physical characteristics commonly associated with UFOs. They even include the typical falling-leaf motion of the saucer zig-zagging through the air. They also encompass prophecy and a loss of ordinary consciousness on the part of witnesses – what we have called the psychic component of UFO sightings.

The Pattern of Prophecy

The first apparition at Fatima of the woman took place on May 13, 1917. Three children were watching their sheep when a bright flash surprised them, and they walked toward the large hollow pasture called Cova da Iria (literally: the Cave of St. Irene, an old sacred spot) to see what had happened. They found themselves caught in a glowing light that almost blinded them, and in the center of the light they percieved a little woman, who spoke to them, begging them to return every month to the same spot.

While the children had been alone on the first occasion, there were fifty people the second time, on June 13. They watched while the little shepherds knelt and became transfigured, as if transported into another world, at the time of the observation. The oldest child, Lucia, who was ten at the time, addressed an unseen entity whose answers were not heard by others in the group. One spectator, however, reported perceiving a very faint voice or the buzzing of a bee (a typical sound associated with modern-day UFOs). At the end of the dialogue all witnesses heard an explosion and saw a small cloud rise from the vicinity of a tree – on which all the succeeding manifestations would center.

The following month, on July 13, the number of witnesses rose to forty-five hundred. This third apparition was especially remarkable in several respects. It included detailed descriptions by some of the spectators of physical phenomena that are specific enough to be compared to UFO data. In the words of Joseph Pelletier, in The Sun Danced at Fatima:

A buzzing or humming sound, a decrease in the Sun’s glow and heat, a small whitish cloud about the three of the apparitions, and a loud noise at the Lady’s departure.

It is also remarkable that the children were shown a vision of hell that terrified them and were given a specific prophecy announcing more apparitions of unknown lights in the sky:

The war is going to end, but if people do not stop offending God another and worse one will begin during the reign of Pius XI [note: he died in 1939]. When you see a night illuminated by an unknown light know that this is the great sign that God is giving you that he is going to punish the world for its crimes by means of war, famine, and persecution of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia…. If they heed my request, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, she will spread her errors throughout the world.

The mixture of seriousness and absurdity that we have already noted in several contactee stories is an unmistakable characteristic of this statement. We will find the same thing to be true in Lourdes, where the alleged Virgin Mary instructs the little Bernadette to perform meaningless actions.

The pattern of prophecy followed its course. On August 13 eighteen thousand people were at the site of the apparitions. The children, however, were not present. They had been kidnapped and jailed by a local official who had decided to put an end to this “nonsense.” In their absence, a clap of thunder was heard, followed by a bright flash. A small whitish cloud was forming around the tree. It hovered for a few minutes, then rose and melted away. The clouds in the sky had turned crimson red, and then changed to pink, yellow, and blue. “Colored light like a rainbow on the ground”; “clouds around the sun reflecting different colors on the people” – such are some of the terms the witnesses used to describe it. The witnesses saw “falling flowers,” the famous phenomenon of “angel hair” so consistently reported after the passage of a UFO, and sometimes interpreted as an ionization effect. One man, Manuel Pedro Marto, in a statement made under oath during the canonical inquiry, reported seeing clearly a luminous globe spinning through the clouds. On August 19, the children had been released and were tending sheep near Aljustrel when, about 4:00 P.M., they noticed a sudden lowering of the temperature. The sun, they said, became yellowish; the colors of the rainbow once again filled the countryside, visible to adults in the vicinity (as was later established). The bright flash was seen, and a glowing light came to settle about a tree near the children. The entity, clothed in white and gold, stood once more in the center of the glow. The witnesses fell on their knees and “feasted their souls in rapture.” A dialogue followed in which the apparition asked the children to “make sacrifices for sinners.” After ten minutes the Lady of Light departed slowly toward the east with a roaring sound.

Apparitions of a Flying Globe

On September 13 the crowd numbered thirty thousand, including two priests who were absolutely skeptical and had come specifically to establish the falsity of the much-heralded “miracles.” The site of the apparitions was a wide amphitheater where most of the crowd had gathered to be close to the tree of the apparitions. However, the two skeptical priests had chosen a spot on the higher ground from which they could observe everything. The following is based on their report.

Noon. The sun got dimmer, although no clouds were seen in the sky. Thousands cried: “There she is… look!” A globe of light was seen by all, advancing slowly down the valley, from east to west, toward the children. It came to rest on the tree. A white cloud formed and, out of the empty sky, shiny white “petals” began to fall. Let us ponder this description of the phenomenon by a witness:

As the people stare at this strange sight they soon notice that the falling, glistering globules, contrary to the laws of perspective, grow smaller and smaller as they near them. And when they reach out their hands and hats to catch them they find that they have somehow melted away.

The children saw the entity again in the center of the globe, and the dialogue began once more between the Lady and Lucia. The promise of a miracle on October 13 was repeated. Then the radiant globe rose and disappeared into the sun.

Asked what he thought the globe was, one of the priests, now quite shaken, stated that “it was a heavenly vehicle that carried the Mother of God from her throne above to this forbidden wasteland.” The concept of the earth as a prison or forbidden wasteland is a popular one among those who have been exposed to these phenomena.

The last apparition, as predicted, took place on October 13, 1917. The crowd numbered seventy thousand this time. (The size of the assembled crowd had grown in the following progression: 3,50, 4,500, 18,000, 30,000, 70,000.) The vision was preceded by a flash of light at noon and a sweet strange fragrance. The children engaged in a dialogue with the Lady. Witnesses did observe the dramatic change on the faces of the three children, enraptured by the vision.

The predicted miracle took place as the apparition left the Cova da Iria. The rain that had been pouring down on the crowd suddenly stopped, and the heavy clouds parted. The sun appeared as a disk of brilliant silver, “a weird disk that turns rapidly on its own axis and casts off beams of colored lights in all directions. Shafts of red light shot out from the rim of the sun and colored the clouds, the earth, the trees, the people; then shafts of violet, of blue, of yellow and of other colors followed in succession.” These colors have been described by an objective skeptic as “monochromatic sectors,” and they were definitely revolving.

The reports speak of a flat disk rather than a globe. After a while it stopped spinning and “plunged downward in zig-zag fashion toward the earth and the horrified spectators.”

Most witnesses believed their last hour had come. Many of them, including the debunkers, knelt in the mud and began publicly confessing their sins. Finally the disk reversed its motion and disappeared into the sun, the real sun, once again fixed and dazzling in the sky. The astounded crowd suddenly realized that their clothes were dry.

Such is the story of Fatima as it can be reconstructed from reports of the time and from church investigations. The final “miracle” had come at the culmination of a precise series of apparitions combined with contacts and messages that place it very clearly, in my opinion, in the perspective of UFO phenomena. Not only was a flying disk or globe consistently involved, but its motion, its falling-leaf trajectory, its light effects, the thunderclaps, the buzzing sounds, the strange fragrance, the fall of “angel hair” that dissolves upon reaching the ground, the heat wave associated with the close approach of the disk – all of these are frequent parameters of UFO sightings everywhere. And so are the paralysis, the amnesia, the conversations, and the healings.

The Angel of Peace

Few of the books on Fatima provide us with details of the children’s background. Yet in all apparition phenomena, it is crucial to investigate this background thoroughly and to ask as precisely as possible for descriptions of the earliest incidents that set the witness on a path to extraordinary realities. In the case of Fatima the events did not begin – as most authorities indicate – on May 13, 1917. It is true that such is the date of the first apparition of the Lady, but this had been preceded by a series of sightings of an angel a couple of years before. These sightings cast serious doubts on the interpretation of the “miracle” given by the Catholic Church.

In April 1915, when Lucia was eight, she was reciting the rosary near Fatima when she saw a transparent white cloud and a human form. This happened a second time in the same year, and a third time in October. Then, during 1916, Lucia was visited three times by the angel.

The first occasion was in the spring. Lucia was with two of her cousins when rain started to fall. The children sought shelter in a small cave. After lunch the rain had stopped, and they were playing at the entrance of the cave when they heard the rumble of a powerful wind – another constant in UFO behavior – and a white light appeared. It was gliding through the valley above the tree tops. In the light was a youth of admirable beauty who came close to them and said, “I am the Angel of Peace.” He taught the children a prayer and disappeared. The three little ones were left in a trance: they kept repeating and repeating the prayer, mechanically, until they literally fell from exhaustion. The next incident took place on a hot day in midsummer 1916. This time, the angel appeared suddenly and asked, “What are you doing? Pray! Pray a great deal! Offer prayers and sacrifices continually.”

“How are we to offer sacrifices?” asked Lucia.
“Make a sacrifice of everything that you possibly can…. Above all, accept and bear with submission the suffering that the Lord shall send you.”
The children were left paralyzed. It was only toward the evening that they regained their senses and began to play again. In this case, as in the previous one, the witnesses did not want to discuss the matter – not even among themselves. Pelletier reports that:

The experience has been so intimate and so manifestly sacred that none of them ever thinks of revealing it, or even the smallest part of it, to anyone else. It is obviously a favor to be kept for themselves. Of that they are absolutely and instinctively persuaded.

The next day they still could not explain their reactions to the apparitions: “I don’t know what is happening to me,” said one of the little girls. “I cannot speak, nor play, not sing, and I haven’t the strength to do anything.”
The angel appeared one more time, in the fall of 1916, in the cave at Cabeso. He gave the children Communion. Analyzing the power that prompted the young witnesses to imitate the actions of this “angels” and to repeat his prayers slavishly, Pelletier offers this perceptive remark:

This power is so intense that it absorbs and almost completely annihilates them. It practically deprives them of the use of their bodily senses… their bodies are subject to a mysterious, depressing force that prostrates them.

His remark could apply to the entire spectrum of close encounters with UFOs.

The Impact of Fatima

What were the sequels to the Fatima story? The lives of many people who attended the “miracles” were deeply changed. Some were cured of a variety of diseases.

At my mother’s request, I went once more to Cova da Iria in August at the time of the apparitions, writes engineer Mario Godinho. Once more I came back discouraged and disappointed. But that time, something extraordinary happened. My mother, who had had a large tumor in one of her eyes for many years, was cured. The doctors who had attended her said they could not explain such a cure.

This is just one among hundreds of such testimonies. At the time of the final miracle, many people were driven out of their senses, even those who saw it from a distance of several miles and were not in the company of other witnesses who might have influenced them. A child of twelve, named Albano Barros, for example, who was in a field near Minde, eight miles from Fatima, was so struck when he saw the disk of light falling toward the earth that he does not remember what followed: “I cannot even remember whether I took the sheep home, whether I ran, or what I did.” Others were so afflicted that, like farmer Manuel Francisco, they went home weeping. Another witness, a lady who now lives in the United States, near Albany, added this comment, “Even today, whenever there is lightning, I remember it, and I am afraid.” A prominent lawyer, Mr. Mendes, stated in an interview with John Haffert in 1960:

What I saw at Fatima could not help but affect the interior life and I am sure that all who saw the miracle, or even heard about it, cannot fail to be impressed by its greatness…. I still remember it today as vividly as at the moment it happened, and I feel myself to be dominated by that extraordinary event.

Another witness reports: “I always keep thinking about the sign.” An extremely interesting series of testimonies came from witnesses who were not at Cova da Iria, but miles away from the crowd. I have already mentioned the observation made by Albano Barros in Minde. A woman named Mrs. Guilhermina Lopes da Silva, who lived in Leiria no less than sixteen miles from the site of the miracle, could not go to the place appointed for the apparition, but she looked toward the mountain at noon and saw “a great red flash” in the sky. The brilliance was such that it was seen thirty miles away (at San Pedro de Muel, by Portuguese writer Afonso Vieira, his wife, and his mother-in-law).

The phenomenon, it seems, could not be photographed directly with the emulsions and shutter speeds commonly aviable at the time. (One picture often produced by the newspapers and alleged to show the miracle is in fact a photograph of an eclipse of the sun that has nothing to do with it.) There are many pictures of the crowd during the “miracle,” however, and the actual brightness of the disk is an unresolved question. Two witnesses looked at it with binoculars and reported seeing a ladder and two beings. The edges of the disk, according to all descriptions, were sharp. And it was definitely not blinding, although pictures of the crowd show many witnesses shading their eyes. But others report that the phenomenon darkened the sun to such an extent that at one point they could see the moon and the stars.

Another remote witness was a schoolboy who was so impressed by what he saw that he subsequently became a priest. An American Catholic writer named John Haffert interviewed him in 1960. At the time of the miracle the schoolboy was with his brother and other children in the village of Alburitel, nine miles away from the Cova da Iria, and here is what he experienced:

I looked fixedly at the sun which seemed pale and did not hurt my eyes. Looking like a ball of snow, revolving on itself, it suddenly seemed to come down in a zig-zag, menacing the earth. Terrified, I ran and hid myself among the people, who were weeping and expecting the end of the world at any moment. It was a crowd which had gathered outside our local village school and we had all left classes and run into the streets because of the cries and surprised shouts of men and women who were in the street in front of the school when the miracle began.

There was an unbeliever there who had spent the morning mocking the “simpletons” who had gone off to Fatima just to see an ordinary girl. He now seemed paralyzed, his eyes fixed on the sun. He began to tremble from head to foot, and lifting up his arms, fell on his knees in the mud, crying out to God.

But meanwhile the people continued to cry out and to weep, asking God to pardon their sins. We all ran to the two chapels in the village, which were soon filled to overflowing. During those long moments of the solar prodigy, objects around us turned all colors of the rainbow…. When the people realized that the danger was over, there was an explosion of joy.

Two of the three children at Fatima died young, as the Lady had predicted, but Lucia lived secluded in a convent to an advanced age.

He attempts to penetrate the official Vatican narrative of the so called apparition of the Virgin Mary (“Our Lady of Fatima”) at Fatima from multiple angles, including through the credibility of the primary witnesses (three young children); the contradictions in the apparitions’ messages and manifestations with traditional Catholic dogma; inconsistencies with the apparitions’ identities and behaviour; the similarities between physical phenomena at Fatima and demonic encounters; and the subversive effects from the cult of Fatima resulting in leading its members into paganism, Islam, and accepting a Crimean-based anti-Christ. (I’ve used apparitions in the plural form because we don’t know that it has been only one apparition to have appeared at Fatima multiple times. It could be multiple entities posing as the same person multiple times).

The latter angle may seem like a bit of a stretch as it pertains to Islam, especially for readers of Fitzinfo.net, but if one considers Islam as a subset of Jewish-Masonic world Noahidism, the author’s conclusions can work from, say, the Catholic worldview presented by Monsignor George F. Dillon in Grand Orient Freemasonry Unmasked (1885) or a similar one presented by La Civilta Cattolica in On the Jewish Question In Europe (1890). It seems that the Catholic Church has warned its flock more of the dangers of subversive Jewish behaviour than it has of Islamic. After all, it’s the “perfidious Jews” for whose salvation we ought to pray more so than the Islamic infidels, it seems. The passage of time has show Islam as the Jewish lackey that it is.

“Jews should rejoice at the fact that Christian Europe is losing its identity as a punishment for what it did to us for the hundreds of years we were in exile…. And now, Europe is losing its identity in favour of another people and another religion…. Even if we are in a major war with the region’s Arabs over the Land of Israel, Islam is still much better as a gentile culture than Christianity.” —Rabbi Baruch Efrati, 2012

To his credit, Diaz does touch on the Jewish-Islam partnership in the last chapter.

Nonetheless, Islam could play a larger role in the anti-Christ deception than we might imagine, as Diaz suggests. Perhaps it could be that Jewry loses control over Islam, and it takes on a bloody, revolutionary life of its own, like it has done many times in history. Furthermore, it’s becoming apparent that Judaism is nothing but repackaged ancient paganism with a special focus on racial identity. If Islam is a creation of Judaism, like many clerics believe, then all the more does it accomodate a push for revived paganism under the anti-Christ in the end days. If the devil chose “Our Lady of Fatima” to spread a false gospel—human and goddess co-redemption—because of its association with Mohammad’s daughter Fatimah and to facilitate the grotesque union of Catholicism with Islam, perhaps it explains why some Fatimists are so pro-Islam. According to these Islamophiles, like with the Judeophiles, Muslims are part of God’s plan of salvation. That’s quite an absurd conclusion, but it seems to be spreading among even so called traditional Catholics (E. Michael Jones anyone?). According to Diaz, it may be that Mary’s immaculate conception was hijacked and applied to Mohammad’s daughter Fatimah through the demon(s) posing as “our lady” at Fatima, Portugal as some sort of twisted mockery and blasphemy, and to blur the line between Catholicism and Islam. Fatimah is portrayed as a sinless goddess figure in the Islamic Quran.

“Satan appeared as Fatimah, the daughter of Mohamet, and called himself “Our lady of the Rosary” while others have given him the name “Our Lady of Fatima.” This last title implies a lady that is derived from Fatima. In other words, Satan came as the lady Fatima!”

A warning to readers who are already offended by the subject of this book but might be reading this review out of curiosity: the author makes even more controversy by taking sedevacantism (vacancy of the Holy See) back beyond it’s common starting year of 1958 to 1878, when the supposed last valid Pope, Pius IX, died. As extreme as this may sound, it’s a notion not entirely new in our time. Michael Hoffman’s 2017 book The Occult Renaissance Church of Rome seems to suggest that the last valid pope was some time before the Medicis took over the papacy. But the reader should not let this dissuade them from reading this book, as it largely deals with the technical and spiritual problems with the cult of Fatima. Diaz fully references his sources—all 301 of them. It’s worth reading, even if you believe Fatima was authentic. I found it difficult to put the book down.

Diaz draws an interesting conclusion from the name of one of the key players in the Fatima narrative, Fatima’s child witness Jacinta, which he sees as a providential clue as to the origins of the apparitions (Jacinta is Portuguese for Hyacinth).

“Saint Hyacinth cut the pagan ‘sacred’ oak tree down. Some accounts say there were visible demons that left the tree. In any case, given the satanic nature of the apparitions at Fatima, it isn’t difficult to understand the symbolic nature of this girl being named after the saint who cut the “great oak” tree down. The tree the “lady” of Fatima appeared on was yet another oak tree. One of the children was named after Saint Hyacinth who fell the first tree. It was left to Jacinta to “fell” the tree of these Satanic apparitions. Jacinta failed in this task. It is now the turn of each individual soul to comprehend and help others see and understand the evil nature of these apparitions.”

Phenomena associated with classic demonic encounters that was present at the Fatima apparitions includes buzzing sounds (that of a bee or fly); lightning, clouds, glowing globes, chilling of the air, and negative physiological and/or psychological effects in humans.

“Beelzebub is the god of flies and of course he is a devil. Buzzing is the sound they heard at the apparitions,” writes Diaz. “Not the Virgin Mary, not ‘UFOS.’ Islam’s false prophet had a similar experience….”

As the Fatima apparition came down to the Earth like lightning, so, too, does Satan:

“And the seventy-two returned with joy, saying: Lord, the devils also are subject to us in thy name. And he said to them: I saw Satan like lightning falling from heaven.” (Luke 10:17-18)

These are just some of the many disturbing revelations discussed in the book.

Bergoglio’s “Saints” of Fatima Francisco and Jacinta, two of the three alleged child witnesses of “Our Lady of Fatima”.

The biggest red flag seems to be the out-of-character display by the Fatima apparition supposedly posing as Mary. Mary has not and never would elevate herself above her Son, as she seems to do at Fatima. Everything else comes unglued from there, as Diaz demonstrates.

“The teachings of Antipope Pius X about the Virgin Mary being Co-Redemptrix was in preparation for the loathing false teachings coming from Fatima that turns the honest seeker of Mary’s intercession into an act of repugnant adoration of a false goddess.”

Here’s a final pair of quotes from the book that relates to the Soviet-Israel, perestroika-deception focus of Fitzinfo.net:

“It is very possible that the beast of Fatima will react to a “consecration” from the antipope by pointing to a man in Crimea/Russia as the answer to world peace either then or in the future.”

…

“Based on the book of Daniel, Bishop Wamesley believes the Antichrist will come from ‘Crim Tartary,’ the modern day Crimea, which was annexed from the Ukraine and joined with Russia on March 18, 2014. This may be the case since the demon of Fatima directed our attention to Russia. To this very day the followers of the Fatima lie are anxiously watching Russia and waiting for the “consecration” so we may see her ‘conversion’.”

Crimea happens to be part of the region that was the old Jewish kingdom of Khazaria—the middlemen between the Eastern Orthodox kingdom of Bynzantium and Kievan-Rus “Third Rome” in the north.

By Timothy Fitzpatrick
Jan. 22, 2019 Anno Domini

There are major theological and geopolitical inconsistencies presented by the alleged prophetic Marian apparition at Fatima in the early 20th century.

The much-touted apparition, which seems to be accepted as authentic by the Vatican and is highly touted in the traditional Catholic movement, tends towards not only private interpretation but also millenarianism (an earthly kingdom)—both of which are anathema to both Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy.

Before I go on, let me first point out that I am a convert to Eastern Orthodoxy, so I have no dog in this fight when I say that the Fatima prophecies are actually anti-Catholic. Furthermore, my eschatological position is that of the majority of the Church Fathers, which is a post- or amillennial view based in some type of Preterism, perhaps partial Preterism. This is important to note, because the Fatima prophecies tend towards a futurist and even pre-millennial view—inconsistent with the majority view of the Fathers. In fact, Fatima’s eschatology is more consistent with Protestantism and millennarianist philo-Semitism, perhaps similar to that of the Puritans and Hussites, for example. Millenarianism is a sort of Earthly messianic expectation in the spirit of racially supremacist Jews.

The timing of Fatima is very suspicious—the same year of Lenin’s anti-Christ October Revolution in Russia (1917) and Europe. But more on that later.

Russia’s false conversion, false consecration
The major red flag with the prophecies is its prediction that the Russian empire will come back to the Catholic faith in the near future. First, it presupposes a continuation of Christ’s millennial reign on Earth (One thousand years of the Church’s rule, be it through Rome or Byzantium), even though it is clearly already at an end. Second, it requires that Russia will either completely abandon Eastern Orthodoxy or modify Eastern Orthodoxy to fit in with Roman Catholicsm (and vice versa)—the latter of which is currently happening through ecumenism. Last but not least, Russia’s current perceived shift to the Right seems to corroborate the Fatima’ prophecy of the consecration of Russia. Why, Russia could only be consecrated if it finally abandoned its Godless communism, and that supposedly happened in the 1990s. In reality, Russia is merely feigning a turn to the Right as part of its old Leninist strategy of leading its opposition, namely conservatives/Christians/nationalists, into a trap. To lure them into this trap, the Soviets must pretend to be like their opponents. Russia is still communist, although it is a much more developed and chameleonic collectivism, which is spreading to each corner of the world. Therefore, Fatima could not be fulfilled by a fake consecration.

Russia to heal Great Schism, create world religion?

The former was achieved in 1918 with the ousting of St. Tikhon, the latter achieved with the communist Judeo-masonic subversion of the Vatican no later than the 1960s, culminating in the anti-Christ Second Vatican Council.
However, the communists learned that since “the gates of hell will not prevail” against Christ’s Church (they couldn’t eradicate altogether Christianity from the hearts of all of the Russian people), they would have to infiltrate it, instead of trying to destroy it. With both Churches already under Soviet, Cultural Marxist control by the end of the 1960s, the next step in the Soviet plan was to unite the two Churches—something I imagine we will eventually see soon. What’s more, it appears the following step in this Soviet plan involves creating a world religion (this is consistent with New Age-Jewish messianism/millennarianism), likely to be based in Jerusalem, home to Jewish, Christian, and Muslim shrines. Today, Russia is home to large amounts of devotees to all three faiths, and has been promoting multiculturalism and inter-faith dialogue since the Revolution began. Russia is still very much a philo-Semitic, philo-Islamic nation. Russia has the largest Muslim population in all of Europe and is still run by mainly Jewish oligarchs and mobsters. Unfortunately, it seems that the great majority of Christians in Russia identify as such out of tradition and nationalism, not so much out of sincere belief. While the Church may appear to be growing in Russia, it is a shallow, false revival based in a revived National Bolshevism. Indeed, true Russian Orthodox authorities warned their flocks that the Soviets would, in the future, build grand churches with which to deceive the masses.

Fatima’s carnal message
Instead of looking to Christ’s superior, spiritual Kingdom, which is here with us now, these sincere yet misguided traditional Catholics take seriously this Fatima consecration of Russia and look to a future Earthly kingdom where Russia and, presumably, the world are consecrated to the RCC and peace is brought in.

“In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world,” reads the end of the so-called second secret of Fatima.

Wow! That’s a rather convenient narrative if your Vladimir Lenin in 1917 looking for a way to fool the Catholic world (the majority in Christendom in terms of numbers) into accepting that Russia’s chameleonic communism is a return to God. Theologically speaking, Fatima’s message is outright Protestantism. True Catholicism has never been millenarianist, nor has it given credence to such fantastical privately interpreted visions. This alleged message from the Holy Mother suggests a restoration of the Church on Earth, despite that the Book of Revelation says basically the opposite would happen following Christ’s one thousand-year reign on Earth (the Church age).

Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

It seems to say that following the Church Age, Satan would be unleashed for a short time to deceive the world, leading to a great apostasy before the final judgment. We appear to be in this phase right now. So instead of some imagined revival, we can only expect to slide further and further into apostasy before the final judgment.
Revelation carries a harsh warning to anyone who would add or take away even one word from the Holy Scriptures. Does Fatima violate this? It appears so. Fatimists are so dedicated to the Fatima message, they seem to hold it on the same level of authority as the Scriptures and Tradition.

The geopolitical inconsistency with Fatima is perhaps even more pronounced. Today, the world is on a terrible and colossal slide into full-fledged apostasy. The momentum is such that it’s hard to believe any God-fearing person could honestly think that a turning point were right around the corner. This fatal error is likely also responsible for the seemingly traditional Catholic support for Putinist Russia and its crypto-Soviet expansion and destruction of Western Civilization. Tainted with the pro-Russian sentiment inherent in the Fatima prophecy, traditional Catholics can only view world events from a pro-Russia view. Thus, if and when Russia and its current Eurasianist agenda succeed in overthrowing the West and the entire world, are tradcats going to believe this will be Christ’s rule on Earth, the time of peace Fatima said it would be? Are they being set up to accept the anti-Christ world religon? We have countless Soviet defectors corroborating the narrative that the Soviets feigned the collapse of communism and are feigning a return to Christianity and conservatism.

Hijacked Vatican brought Fatima’s message to the world
Tradcats also need to realize that it was the Judeo-masonic, communist-infiltrated post-Vatican-II-occupied Holy See that brought these alleged secrets of Fatima to the world. If the secrets were authentic, one would think that anti-Christ Vatican II church would go to any length to suppress these secrets. The logic just doesn’t follow.

There is controversy over whether the third secret was fully disclosed by the Vatican (in the year 2000), and all kinds of speculation surrounds what the complete secret says, one of which is that it spoke of the RCC being infiltrated and becoming the throne of anti-Christ. Well, if this is true, we don’t really need this missing part of the third secret, because it is already very obvious that the RCC, and much of Eastern Orthodoxy, have been hijacked by anti-Christs. Again, Revelation warned that instead of a revival of the Church, she would go into apostasy leading up to the final judgment. Furthermore, the Holy Scriptures seem to suggest that before the final judgment, there would remain only a remnant of the true Church. These revelations appear to be coming true right before our very eyes, as in both Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy, there are only remnants staying true to the faith and tradition. In the RCC, we have tradcats, sedevacantists, etc. In Eastern Orthodoxy, we have the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) and individual parishes throughout the Eparchy staying true to tradition. But none of these, unfortunately, make up the majority of the Churches today. They are mere remnants.

Now, if Fatima is indeed a communist ruse to fool tradcats, where does it lead? It can only lead to a re-unified Church, where there is a pseudo healing of the Great Schism between the RCC and Eastern Orthodoxy.
Interestingly in Eastern Orthodoxy, some remnant believers and Saints have already warned that the Bolsheviks would one day appear to restore Russian Orthodoxy and rebuild these magnificent churches but that it would all be for show. Indeed, we now know that Leninist and Stalinist strategy involved giving concessions to the ROC. In fact, after the death of St. Tikhon—the last true Patriarch of the ROC, the Bolsheviks put in one of their own as the head of the ROC. This line of succession of impostor patriarchs continues to this day, with “Patriarch” Kirill. Kirill and Pope Francis appear to be on great terms and could be planning a re-unification soon. Eastern Orthodoxy, especially in the ROC, has its own kind of Fatima message. They, like the Fatimists, believe there will be a great revival of Christianity in Russia, despite warnings from the Bible and Remnant believers to the contrary.

There you have it. The heads of both the RCC and ROC are in the hands of the anti-Christ system. There is no sign of any kind of revival or restoration of Russia to either the Sacred Heart of Mary or to even traditional and true Eastern Orthodoxy.
