U.S. President Donald Trump once again proclaimed the birthday of Rebbe King Moshiach 11 Nisan (this year on April 9) as a day of enlightenment and knowledge exchange.

In 1978, President Jimmy Carter wrote: "The United States Congress concluded the discussion of a joint resolution that recognized the need for our country to allocate a special day dedicated to the recognition of the importance of education in the lives of our citizens... It is a great honor for me to join the House of Representatives and the Senate in recognizing this need and the privilege of fulfilling their request."

From that moment on, the annual celebration of 11 Nissan in honor of the birthday of the Rebbe King Moshiach began. Since then, every U.S. president has continued this tradition. Also, the United States Donald Trump once again proclaimed the Rebbe's birthday (this year on April 9) as a day of education and knowledge exchange.

"On April 9, we draw inspiration from the life and heritage of the Lubavitch Rebbe, whose Jewish birthday coincides with this day. All Americans can learn from him a tireless devotion to education, good deeds and charity," Trump wrote. "Today, Hasidim and messengers of HABAD serve as beacons of the teachings of the Rebbe and his boundless love for all mankind."
