Scottish Rite Freemasonry joins International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance in its fight against ‘anti-Semitism'

INTERNATIONAL HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE ALLIANCE (IHRA)

Declaration of the Ven.mo and Pot.mo Leo Taroni SGC of the R.S.A.A.

“The indelible memory of the massacre of entire populations based on racial and ethnic classifications, operated with the use of weapons of mass destruction to physically eliminate innocent geniuses, makes explicit the profound meaning of Remembrance Day which, fixed by resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, commemorates - on January 27 of each year - the victims of the Holocaust.

In a logical ideological and operational continuation, on 6 December 2018, the Council of the European Union issued its own Declaration on the fight against anti-Semitism and the development of a common approach to security, for better protection of Jewish communities and institutions in Europe.
These considerations, not political but absolutely existential, reflect and make absolutely operational the fundamental principles of freedom and respect for the religious faith of others, typical of Freemasonry.

Consistently, as a Freemason and Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of the Ancient Scottish Rite and Accepted for the Italian Masonic Jurisdiction, I intend to make explicit - also on behalf of the Supreme Council - the participatory support for intercultural and interreligious work with the involvement of Jewish communities and institutions with particular attention to the fight against anti-Semitism operated by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) and I adopt in its entirety the definition of work issued by it for the fight against anti-Semitism.”
