Noahids from Germany are on tour of Israel

Members of the delegation talked to the rabbi of the synagogue of the river Bencion Gagula on practical ways they can help Jews during this time, including the fight against anti-Semitism and slander against Israel in the German-language media.

Ignoring official warnings about the inadmissibility of trips to Israel and the cancellation of flights due to the launch of missiles by Yemeni Houthis, a delegation of Noahids from Germany traveled to the north of the Holy Land as a sign of solidarity with Israel.

The delegation visited the Haifa synagogue "Mishkan Shalom", which is the headquarters of the educational program of the HABAD movement for the Noahids - non-Jews who seek to follow the seven laws of Noah, which are binding on all people.

65-year-old Hubert Rogon from the city of Gueren in southeastern Germany recalls how he came under rocket fire from Yemen: "This is the reality of life here, and it is important that we also survive it." According to Rogon, the delegation came despite the fact that Germany and a number of other countries warned about the ban on visiting Israel, considering it more important to demonstrate their support for the Jewish people. In some cases, it even required special insurance.

Hubert grew up in a Catholic family, but over the last decade he has moved away from Christianity towards Judaism, although he is not Jewish and does not seek to pass the guiur. He heads the non-profit organization "Heir of Jacob", which "strives to achieve peace in Zion and peace with the Jewish people, and also promotes interfaith exchange".

Members of the delegation talked to the rabbi of the synagogue of the river Bention Gagula, an emissary of the global HABAD movement among the Noahids, on practical ways they can help Jews at this time, including the fight against anti-Semitism and slander against Israel in the German-language media.

In 2023, Patrick Geisler, the leader of the Noahid group, opened a non-profit organization in the Golan Heights called the Embassy of the People of Ephraim, which is a center for information and educational work with the Noahids. This institution, located in Katzrin, received guests who got acquainted with the revival of northern communities after the November truce with Hezbollah.

"It is very important that despite attempts to demonize Israel and widespread fears of coming here, a group of true friends and allies made a trip to defend light and decency," said r. Gagul.
