Moscow building Noahide-styled interreligious centre

MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. The start of construction of an interreligious center in the capital’s village of Kommunarka, which will unite churches of four traditional religions of Russia, is planned for 2024. The model of the center will be presented at the international exhibition and forum "Russia" at VDNKh, said the head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia, Mufti Albir Krganov.

“In New Moscow, it is planned to build an interreligious center, which will become a unique platform for dialogue in its potential and capabilities. This project will unite churches of four traditional religions of Russia - Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism and Islam. The complex will include: an educational center and museums, exhibitions sites, intellectual laboratories for each of our religions, special spaces for youth leisure, creativity, gardening and sports. <...> At the beginning of the year, thanks to the decision of [Moscow Mayor Sobyanin] Sergei Semenovich, we received documents <...> and are planning to start construction is already underway in 2024,” he said at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the new composition of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.

Krganov also noted that the concept of the center with churches will be demonstrated at the exhibition-forum “Russia”, which opens on November 4 at VDNKh. “We believe that this project will be an important contribution to strengthening interethnic and interreligious harmony,” concluded the mufti.
