The Russian government, together with interested agencies and telecom operators, will appeal to the Russian Academy of Sciences to dispel "myths" about the dangers of radiation from 5G and 6G stations and Wi-Fi, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said at a meeting of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council.
The government wants to convince not only Russians, but also Rospotrebnadzor of the safety of communication. This agency does not soften the sanitary requirements for stations, as a result, in the border regions it happens that foreign base stations jam the Russian ones.
Mikhail Vedernikov, the governor of the Pskov region, complained about this situation. According to him, in the border areas, "unfriendly operators interrupt our signals because their stations are ten times more powerful." He proposed to revise the "outdated" restrictions that do not allow Russian operators to install such stations. "And people are still irradiated, only by already unfriendly operators," the head of the region stated.
"We have been trying to solve the issue of the 1964 myth about radiation for a year and a half. But Rospotrebnadzor has its own vision. Therefore, an independent opinion of the Russian Academy of Sciences is needed, they should study the impact of radiation from 5G and 6G stations. At the same time, we will remove mythology with Wi-Fi," Chernyshenko summed up.
