Internet company MindGeek, of which Pornhub is a subsidiary, has announced the resignations of CEO Feras Antun and COO David Tassillo, who is often referred to in the media as the “Jewish porn king.”
In a commentary to Variety, a company representative explained that the resignation of senior officials was planned from the beginning of the year and became part of the company's strategic development. It is noted that Antun and Tassillo will remain shareholders of MindGeek.
However, the news of the departure of two of MindGeek's top executives came shortly after The New Yorker published a scathing article about Pornhub. The journalists of the publication claimed that the service posted candid videos without the consent of the persons depicted on it. Including children. Although the company has always assured that it does not publish content without identifying an individual and her consent. But in an interview with The New Yorker, several women at once said that they accidentally discovered their videos and photos on Pornhub. After that, it took them several months to get the pictures removed from the site. The New Yorker also talked to minors who, succumbing to online blackmail, created and sent images of a sexual nature to extortionists. These images also ended up on PornHub.
MindGeek is headquartered in Luxembourg and headquartered in Montreal. The company defines its mission as "creating entertainment and IT solutions for a global customer base" and also provides "opportunities to monetize content." Platforms managed by the company are visited daily by 150 million people.
MindGeek has attracted the attention of law enforcement more than once.
