Today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent congratulations to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Victory Day. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Embassy of Israel in the Russian Federation. "Our Prime Minister sent congratulations on Victory Day to the President of the Russian Federation," the embassy noted.

On this day, Netanyahu also paid tribute to war veterans on the occasion of Victory Day, which has been celebrated at the state level in Israel since 2017. "Dear veterans, thanks in many ways to you, this day, May 9, means the victory of the civilized world over human evil. On this day, 79 years ago, the Nazi regime, which created the worst catastrophe of all time, was defeated. The path to victory was not easy - to put it mildly, it is lined with a long blood cover. Nazi monsters claimed the lives of tens of millions of people, including six million Jews, our brothers and sisters," Netanyahu emphasized. - But today we remember that a Jew was not only a victim, but also a hero. One and a half million Jews served in the armies of the Allied countries, mainly in the Red Army and the American Army. You fought on the Eastern Front, showed the highest courage, great determination and endless dedication. You stopped Nazism and prevented a much bigger tragedy. We all honor you!"
