Dugin proposes establishing 'Russian DOGE' like Musk’s Department of Official Efficiency

February 13, 2025

Russia would do well to establish an agency to monitor the performance of government officials, similar to the US Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), headed by entrepreneur Elon Musk . This is the opinion expressed by Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin .

Supporters of the new US President Donald Trump have found a direct link between liberalism and corruption, he believes. According to Dugin, an ideological error led to the "corruption epidemic" in Russia.

"An anti-bureaucratic and anti-corruption oprichnina," the philosopher wrote in his Telegram channel. "<…> There is nothing wrong with admitting your mistakes and correcting them. Well, yes, they made a mistake with their ideology, and this led to an epidemic of corruption. Economic freedom was perceived as an invitation to shameless theft, robbery, and fraud."

In the US, it is essentially the same, Dugin said. He equated liberalism with corruption, concluding that if everything is reduced to enrichment, “human dignity will be lost instantly.”

Dugin recalled that yesterday, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin proposed asking the US Congress for lists of those financed in Russia by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). "Volodin quite rightly proposed to take on those in Russia who have worked for USAID and other subversive organizations for decades. Perhaps, for this purpose, it would be worth establishing a separate Russian Dodge," he believes.

Let us recall that in early February, Musk, who headed the Department of Government Effectiveness after Trump's election victory, called USAID a criminal organization and announced its liquidation. The White House made public the most "ridiculous" USAID expenditures. According to Volodin, the US "fooled half the world" with pseudo-democracy - he called on recipients of foreign grants to publicly repent.
